isaidno Posted 29 August 2008 Posted 29 August 2008 UEFA CUP DRAW Portsmouth v Vitoria SC (Portugal) Manchester City v AC Omonia (Cyprus) Nancy (France) v Motherwell Everton v Standard Liege (Belgium) Litex Lovech (Bulgaria) v Aston Villa Tottenham v Wisla Krakow (Poland)
Tevez Posted 29 August 2008 Posted 29 August 2008 I think everyone but Everton should win. Standard Liege gave Liverpool a run for there money. So it will be tough.
Tilley Posted 29 August 2008 Posted 29 August 2008 Very nasty draws for the British teams. Aston Villa's away tie in Bulgaria will be tough. & Everton will have be on top of their game to beat Standard Liege.
Jay Posted 29 August 2008 Posted 29 August 2008 I don't see what is so tough about any of those draws to be honest besides Everton while you don't get easy games anymore all of those should be winnable for any of the English teams
Floating Fox Posted 29 August 2008 Posted 29 August 2008 I don't see what is so tough about any of those draws to be honest besides Evertonwhile you don't get easy games anymore all of those should be winnable for any of the English teams Wisla beat Barca at home....
MC Prussian Posted 29 August 2008 Posted 29 August 2008 Other tasty draws: FC Zurich vs AC Milan BSC Young Boys Bern vs Club Bruges AC Bellinzona vs Galatasaray Istanbul What a year it is for Swiss football! (Not that I'm overly optimistic about their chances of progressing)
MC Prussian Posted 29 August 2008 Posted 29 August 2008 Go on Bellinzona! You can call them Bellenz - but not Bellends, mind you!

dandannieldanok Posted 29 August 2008 Posted 29 August 2008 UEFA CUP DRAW Portsmouth v Vitoria SC (Portugal) Manchester City v AC Omonia (Cyprus) Nancy (France) v Motherwell Everton v Standard Liege (Belgium) Litex Lovech (Bulgaria) v Aston Villa Tottenham v Wisla Krakow (Poland) Out of that lot, Spurs and Motherwell will go out, the rest will make it IMO.
purpleronnie Posted 29 August 2008 Posted 29 August 2008 Does anyone actually care about the UEFA cup? The teams in it?
Darkzzz_ Posted 29 August 2008 Posted 29 August 2008 It is still very strange seeing Milan in the Uefa Cup. But the way they performed last season they deserved it. They should go far, there are some top teams in there, I can't see any of the English teams in the final though. You just never know I suppose.

Tottenham or Pompey could easily make the final I think if they get a good knock-out draw. AC are obvious favourite's but there could be some tastey teams dropping out of the Champions League into the UEFA Cup. Liverpool, PSV, Marseille, Atletico, Real, Juve and Zenit are all strong possibilities. Could well be a very entertaining competition this year. Thank god Bolton arent in it.

Liverpool may well struggle, Atletico I think they will progress as do I think Juve and Madrid will. But if Zenit play like they did tonight then they may will surprise a few, there homes games will be key for there potential progression. I too think the Uefa cup will be interesting this year. Sevilla or Milan for me.... Spurs as a outsider... Pompey I just can't see... But what a dream it would be...ay...!

Liverpool, win all there home games and there home games and they are through. Leaving them three games to pick up a point away from home to garuntee a passage through. Zenit's home form as you say will have to be very strong and you would think they would have to beat Juve or Real away from home aswell to have a chance. But either way the UEFA Cup will be very entertaining. Are they keeping the Group stages in the UEFA Cup?

Both the Uefa cup and the CL will be throw up some great games. Really looking forward to it. I will be cheering for Juve ( I know you won't, but we won't go into that debate again ) I will also be cheering for Barca as I do visit there once a year. But to be honest, I think you would have to look at Real, Chelsea and Inter to win the CL. But as I said before you just never know, all the teams in Europe have strengthened. Should be excellent viewing.
