MC Prussian Posted 20 September 2008 Posted 20 September 2008 I've been thinking about coming up with a good mixtape myself for quite a while, but always had to sort of postpone that idea because I'm constantly coming across new and fresh music. I hope you don't feel offended when I say I haven't checked out any of your collections yet. Basically, this is my saying "listen up, there's good music out there that you don't hear on the radio that often - or not at all". I'd say the majority of FT has never ever heard of any of these bands before. If you do so, congrats! I admire people with similar taste. Initially, I had 42 songs put aside, but then trimmed it down to 20 - in sync with my mixtape number. It's a collection of rather relaxed songs with a certain undertone and beat to them. Call it mysterious, sad, moving, deep, maybe even dark... Enjoy the ride. Hope it'll turn out to be a fantastic one. Alexei's Mixtape 01. The Republic Tigers - Buildings And Mountains 02. Tacks, The Boy Disaster - Frozen Feet 03. Headlights - Get Your Head Around It 04. Midlake - Roscoe 05. My Morning Jacket - Wordless Chorus 06. Zero 7 - Futures 07. No Kids - For Halloween 08. Apostle Of Hustle - National Anthem Of Nowhere 09. C-Mon & Kypski - Nike SBCK07 10. Broken Social Scene - 7/4 (Shoreline) 11. Department Of Eagles - Phantom Other 12. Stars - Ghost Of Genova Heights 13. Wolf Parade - Fine Young Cannibals 14. Ra Ra Riot - Too Too Too Fast 15. The Helio Sequence - Hallelujah 16. Portico - High Walls 17. The D'Urbervilles - National Flowers 18. The Shins - Girl Sailor 19. Grand Theft Bus - Makes Me Free 20. Liam Finn - Wide Awake On The Voyage Home

I was more thinking of the regular FT poster... I do know that your music knowledge is a bit broader than that, James. Still: How many of these did you know already?
