LINCOLN Post Match 0-0

Just got back from the match and can't be bothered to rate the players as they couldn't be bothered to play.

Points to note;

Henderson should be rewared a first team start. Not just for his penalty heroics but for the confidence he showed and his communication with the back four (something that Martin doesn't display).

Spot on, i was sat on the other side of the stadium, east stand, and i could really here the shouting on the pitch, the communication, and throughout the game hendo was very vocal, and he should keep the No1 Jersey, jon and even better note he is better than Mark Crossley at saving Peno's.

On another note, has anyone made a who is better Hendo or Martin Poll?

No i am not going to make one just enquirering, Also we should bring Marton Fulop back

Make sense- if he is in first team reguarly then he can build up understanding with his defence and that would be more benefical for long term run than Martin who would be going back to the Reds

We just didn't move the ball around quick enough. Lincoln did make it difficult with putting men behind the ball, but we can't use that as an excuse for not creating more chances against them.

Far too often we were looking for that final ball - instead of keeping the ball and working the opposition to find space, an early ball over the top or the wrong pass led to several moves breaking down. Morrison was one of the culprits with some shocking forward passes from the back.

Have not seen a poll, but reading through the different threads, opinions are definately divided.

Their will be alot of clubs coming to the walkers and trying to do that this season, where as we will want to go out and attack they want to put 10 men behind the ball and counter us, and unfortunately i dont think we know how to break em down

Bet it's one of those cup matches you'll never forget though.

Perhaps so, if when we make it to Wembley.

We'll have Kisnorbo, Mattock and maybe Clemence available for the next round.

With Oldham already out and Leeds looking a fair bet to join them, there shouldn't be any team to fear in this competition.

:blink:

You don't half talk some nonsense sometimes.

I take it those dissing the JPT won't be going to Wembley should we get there?

Lincoln came with a plan and did well to stick to it, we weren't all that considering the team we put out. Lucky to go through I thought, we still need a lesson in not taking things for granted. I'm fond of Lincoln City but most glad we managed to get through - albeit on Penalties.
