The People's Hero Posted 2 October 2008 Posted 2 October 2008 Got this sorted now. I was sure I'd searched for 'audiobook' 'torrent' before.. but turns out I'm a big hairy retard and more of a twat than Raj.
General Smuts Posted 3 October 2008 Posted 3 October 2008 Ive got about 8k on my old laptop (now just an external hardrive) that i cannae put on my new iPod because my current laptop has no power cable due to it having been lost in the frigging post! Before the laptop went down i managed to get just under 2k songs on it. Only about 8gb out of the 80gb i have. It will be full one day!

Daggers Posted 3 October 2008 Posted 3 October 2008 I've just wiped the hard-drive and reinstalled iTunes, then tagged and bagged a load of tunes afresh: 20640 items - 56.9 days - 122.98gb
Trav Le Bleu Posted 4 October 2008 Posted 4 October 2008 I'm determined to fill my 80gb iPod up. At the rate I'm going that'll be about 15,000 tunes. I know you love your music James, but do you know how long it would take to listen to 15,000 tracks? Assuming an avergae length of 4 mins per track that 60,000 mins = 1000 hrs = 41.7 days. That's of course assuming you don't stop to sleep... or recharge your 1000 hr battery. Ooooh, so assume you have a 25 hr battery life (which is pretty good) and that it takes 2 1/2 hrs to recharge (for ease of computation ) that would make it 1100 hrs - an extra 4 days and 4 hours! In all it is why I don't see the point of having more than a few thousand - then it gets silly. You'll have to recharge several times before you can listen to it all. Battery life is of prime importance to me. Besides, it's quality not quantity that counts. You could have the biggest iPod in the world, but if it's full of Steps, Hear'Say, Westlife and Kid Rock, then what's the point!

EDIT: I'm not saying that James' iPod is full of Steps, Hear'Say, Westlife and Kid Rock btw but who knows when you might fancy listening to that random cover version or that DJ Shadow remix the more the merrier for me I like to cover as many options as possible for what random song might come into my head as I am sitting on a train or something

With more capacity I fear that would turn into tens and hundreds. I guess that's just me.
Daggers Posted 4 October 2008 Posted 4 October 2008 EDIT: I'm saying that James' iPod is full of Steps, Hear'Say, Westlife and Kid Rock btw Fight!
Trav Le Bleu Posted 4 October 2008 Posted 4 October 2008 I raise James' Westlife album with my Breathe 12" !
Daggers Posted 4 October 2008 Posted 4 October 2008 I raise James' Westlife album with my Breathe 12" ! I'll see that and raise you a Carpenters' Greatest Hits, a James Blunt and a Mika
