DB11 Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 Have any of you ever played proper Futsal? I've Reffed it twice and, to put it bluntly, didn't have the easiest of times each time It's not something I regularly Referee so it takes about 3/4 of the game adjusting to the tempo etc. of it but I still enjoy Reffing it and it looks good fun to play in :) So any of you ever played? It's how Ronaldinho etc. started out!!
Alexikokopops Posted 17 October 2008 Posted 17 October 2008 I've memtioned it in another thread but my coursemate during my masters plays for the Greek National Futsal side. He had to hand in his dissertation a week or so early because he had to go to Macedonia to play some Champions League equivalent qualifiers for the team he plays for in Athens.

SOCCERROO FOX Posted 17 October 2008 Posted 17 October 2008 I like feel i don't play it but used to watch it a bit, fell sorry for the goalies in futsal
Dr The Singh Posted 17 October 2008 Posted 17 October 2008 Unfortunately not Sounds really good, but very difficult, ball control must be a nightmare!!
shen Posted 17 October 2008 Posted 17 October 2008 Can't say I have. But I've been watching the Futsal WC on Eurosport. The semifinal between Spain and Italy had a ludicrous ending. Don't think you'd have enjoyed making the final decision in this game, Db11!! Spain - Italy After the 20 minutes of discussing, the goal was deemed to have been scored within the last tenth of the final second.
CosbehFox Posted 18 October 2008 Posted 18 October 2008 No, I have never played it but the Brazilian chap whose name I have forgot is absolutely incredible.
Alexikokopops Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 Is this not just 5 a side ?? The ball's smaller and heavier (with less bounce) to encourage more technical skillz
Sparky Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 The ball's smaller and heavier (with less bounce) to encourage more technical skillz Ah right , watched a bit on eurosport the other week but wasnt overly impressed . I do think its the way we should be going with youngsters though , more emphasice on the technical side
