End of year awards

Is it just me that thinks this is a little over the top? I mean they're awards for who's wasted their time the most on this forum (as shown last year with Fez winning the majority). I'd be a little embarassed if I was to actually get a certificate for "Most sensible responses to TPH's Friday ramblings" or something. That's just my opinion.

It was purely an idea based on a social event, doing something diferent, and having the contacts to be able to provide a venue free of charge! It doesn't have to be about the awards, but maybe the theme would have been quite comical given the title to some of the awards.

I was speaking to Bert a couple of weeks ago about this on Facebook, and thought with the talk of the Foxestalk awards, theres not really that much recogniton to genuine posters apart from a highlighted name on a screen.

I know that there isnt much fundage that hardly goes towards this site, and credit must go to Mark + Admins for keeping it up and running, so, what I am proposing is this....and please forgive me if you do the suggestion I am about to suggest.

My sisters boyfriend owns a bar in town, I can pretty much guarantee it free to hire for a night (providing numbers are decent and moneys spent on beer on the bar). It would be, in my opinion cool to host an annual Foxestalk award ceremony with winners of their respective catagorys receiving a Foxestalk designed certificate (locally printed) or if everyone wanted to contribute a fiver then so mini medals.

Please let me know what you think i'd be happy to work along side someone/people to sort the night out?!

Regardless of whether the actual 'award's ceremony' is a realistic proposition or not, I do think the idea of a proper 'FT Party'-type event would be fantastic. I realise lots of folks get together in friendship groups or after FT games but this would be something a little different. I'd be up for it! If it comes to something and you need a hand with organising or anything, just shout or PM me.

Doesn't doing this rule out anyone who can't make it getting an award?

For example, any of the Oz members?

I'd be up for it btw.

T'ain't gonna take a huge amount of arm-twisting to persuade me, to be honest. :P:dance:

It's just a night out isn't it. Even if under 18's are not allowed in.

Is that a problem? :dunno:

Private functions can have under 18s, if they so wish. You still won't be able to buy alcohol though.

Foxestalk xmas do? Fancy dress optional!?

Only problem with this is the amount of things folks tend to have already organised in the run up to Christmas. What about something early in the New Year? Just a thought...

I can pretty much get the bar for whenever

Assuming it's a Friday or Saturday night I'll be happy. Midweek = :nono::cry:

Yeah, sort of.

But if people enjoy it, then let them eat cake. (that makes no sense does it?)

I'm just game for a get together/party, regardless of awards. My one stipulation is that there must be karaoke. Let them karaoke. (Karaoke is a verb know)
