davieG Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 Do you watch anything? Lots but but I avoid crap.
eye666 Posted 26 October 2008 Posted 26 October 2008 That's what they said when all this football violence started years ago - oh dear but it's not our problem - well it soon was and now we're all paying the price. Literally - costs of new all-seater stadia and paying for policing = ticket costs going up up up.
Daggers Posted 26 October 2008 Posted 26 October 2008 Also, what about the police and stewards? It may be part of their job description, but I am sure they would rather not have to deal with drunken neanderthals! I never liked it myself! Yup...but that is like saying vegetarians shouldn't have to suffer the indignity of flipping meat at McDonalds - if you seriously don't want the grief then don't apply for the job.
purpleronnie Posted 26 October 2008 Posted 26 October 2008 From seeing some of it again it was quite laughable, handbags stuff. But of course some were more serious. Of course you shouldnt have to seperate fans, but I stood in the kop in the 1980's and I'm not a violent person but when big games do occur and trouble kicks off its hard not to be part of the mob you can easily get carried away with it and do things you would never do anywhere else. I'm sure a lot of these fans arent 'drunken idiots' but just got lost in the moment and probably in the light of day regret it.

As it is today I'm not advocating going back to non-segregation I just don't think it's valid excuse for violence. As for your last part that makes them drunken idiots if they can't control themselves after a few drinks then the should stay at home. Excitement and passion does not need to involve fighting handbags or otherwise. You can argue all you like but there is simply no excuse for violence in any form let alone at a football match it simply cannot be justified.

Of course there isnt I never said there was but it will happen. This isnt some sort of paradise where eveyone loves eachother and there is no crime or hate. Its the real world. Wakey wakey.
TOMMY4444 Posted 26 October 2008 Posted 26 October 2008 Absolutely great win for Sunderland, yes I was there should have been more Cisse and Jones will be great for us. Some our fans got over excited with the win, onto the pitch, the scum broke through the one line of police and staying in the stands charged the rest. It is always the same cover of police sometimes a few rows of seats between them, but with sellout 48000 crowd no room for that at the game. Great Win For Sunderland
Uncle Albert Posted 27 October 2008 Posted 27 October 2008 Great strike by Richardson, in slow motion it still went in like a bullet. Did it though? Jesus he smashed a ball into the roof of the net. Big deal. Do it from 30 yards then you may get abit of credit. Newcastle are starting to get thier acts together and now the main man himself is back from suspension the only way is up. Hopefully Newcastle finish higher than Sunderland and Spurs can pull their fingers out and move up the table.
Tevez Posted 27 October 2008 Posted 27 October 2008 Kieron Richardson is shite, what a poor free kick. Very unsporting.
Bert Posted 27 October 2008 Posted 27 October 2008 I just think the whole event was based on a bit of banter really.
Tevez Posted 27 October 2008 Posted 27 October 2008 I just think the whole event was based on a bit of banter really. Fair point if i'm honest.
Uncle Albert Posted 27 October 2008 Posted 27 October 2008 Fair point if i'm honest. Your as honest as they come Tev. If Joey Barton had scored that free kick he wouldnt be getting the arselicking Richardson is getting. Fact.
Tevez Posted 27 October 2008 Posted 27 October 2008 I know, Richardson should be called Ridicolouson. I reckon I've hit better with that peg leg of mine. Garrr.
