Craig Posted 10 December 2008 Posted 10 December 2008 Forget the Champions League, watch proper football on Setanta tonight. A chance to play Eastwood in the 3rd round for the winners, meaning a very good chance of progression to the 4th Round also. Both Notts County and Eastwood have riled a few Kettering fans this week, what the stupid Eastwood 'OMGZ WE'RE PLAYIN AT MEADOW LANE IN DA 3RD ROUND!' reaction to the draw along with their fixture list stating that they're playing Notts County on the 3rd of January. In addition to this, Eastwood have already been sent their 4000 allocation of tickets from Notts County. I really can't wait. It's gonna be freezing, it's going to be uncomfortable, and it's gonna be how football should be! COME ON KETTERING!! :chant:
Fosse Boy Posted 10 December 2008 Posted 10 December 2008 Up the Poppies! If I had Setanta and Sky Sports, I too would opt to watch that game instead of the overhyped, overcommercial "Champions League" bollocks.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 10 December 2008 Posted 10 December 2008 I'd have loved to have headed over for this but can't make it tonight. Fingers crossed.
CosbehFox Posted 10 December 2008 Posted 10 December 2008 Why is it Kettering always seem to be sh*t on by league clubs? I hope they go up and bring a few League 2 clubs to Rocky Road next season.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 10 December 2008 Posted 10 December 2008 GOAL: Kettering 1-1 Notts County: Solkhon (53) GOAL: Kettering 2-1 Notts County: Seddon (54) I LIKE.
Fosse Boy Posted 10 December 2008 Posted 10 December 2008 Ah, Brett Solkhon. Without doubt my favourite Anglo-Dane. Well done Poppies!
Craig Posted 10 December 2008 Author Posted 10 December 2008 That was fantastic! Absolutely frozen though!

JoeyB Posted 10 December 2008 Posted 10 December 2008 Chesterfield 2-2 Droylsden Chesterfield's Jack Lester (right) scored a controversial goal Lester (right) confronts referee Andy Woolmer after his controversial goal Droylsden kept alive their hopes of a third-round FA Cup tie at Ipswich after earning a controversial draw against Chesterfield in the second round. The visitors protested furiously when Chesterfield's Jack Lester lobbed the keeper from a throw-in after Droylsden had put the ball out of play. The home side then allowed Steve Halford to walk unchallenged into their half to tap the ball in for 2-2. Jamie Ward had given Chesterfield the lead before Alex Brown headed level. Floating Fox Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 Went to the match, was ruined abit by Setanta putting scaffholding everywhere, but enjoyed it regardless. Kettering deserved it, played some good stuff and Alfie Potter was quality (Havant hero!). Notts didn't deserve it, team was awfull (Although a good goal) and fans were wank (ok shit away end) but they only brought about 400!

Potter's going to be some player, he wasn't as great as he was in the away match though. Notts actually only brought 260 according to their OS :crylaugh: Brilliant night, and a great chance now to reach the fourth round. Eastwood need to change their fixture list...
Darkzzz_ Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 Kettering is where I was born and bred. So many people in my town have jumped on the bandwagon now they are doing well. I wish them well and I hope they go up and I also hope they get drawn a big team if they get past Eastwood.
CosbehFox Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 Potter won't make it. Too lightweight, he gets easy pushed off the ball at Conf level.
Floating Fox Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 Potter won't make it. Too lightweight, he gets easy pushed off the ball at Conf level. Great technical ability, very fast. Was probably ketterings best players last nite. Stood out more than any of the football league players.
