Thracian Posted 20 January 2009 Posted 20 January 2009 Millwall have a game in hand so that 10 points could be cut to 7 That looks more like eight points in reality when you consider our goals difference of +29 to Millwall's +8.
Number 6 Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 Millwall are building up a few games in hand, they are in the FA Cup this weekend. Think they could end up in second in the not too distant future.
Ric Flair Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 We've still got to play Millwall, MK Dons and Peterborough away from home so there's still plenty to play for. They desperately need to take points off us in those games, if they want to get near us.

Fortunately, we are putting ourselves in a position where we can afford to go to these places, draw and still be in a great position.
Darkzzz_ Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 Good point. I just want to keep winning and keep stretching this gap over them.
Lovejoy Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 I genuinely think we'll get 9 points from those 3 games. I also think the other challengers will drop more silly points than us.
Simi Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 Will be nice to be involved in a game with high stakes for a change, this season hasn't exactly bought many games you can look forward to.
Part Of The Crowd Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 it was a good game, we were the better team the first half and peterborough the second half, some great football being played. fergie junior threw his toys out of the pram because they didn't win and started commenting on our 'negative' football, i'm not sure passing football and ball retention is poor football and when under pressure clearing the ball? as to the comments i have seen on 606 about us 'diving' i can catogorically state that each time a player had a genuine reason to go down, a couple elbows to the face and alot of hacking through from behind with feet in the air. Peterborough is another ground i have been to this season where there is almost no atmosphere whatsoever from the home fans, the others being leyton orient, which was just completely dire, not a single chant all game, and hartlepool where the only chant they had was just after they scored then they all shut up again. all in all a draw was a fair result and i just want to send out my condolances to the Peterborough fan that died in the glebe road end, it was very distressing watching people trying to save him and the ambulance leaving at the end after him being stretchered off, RIP mate,

I'm still a "game at a time" guy but, for the chasing pack, that gap is beginning to look seriously large. I wouldn't want to swop places!
Part Of The Crowd Posted 22 January 2009 Posted 22 January 2009 Irony anyone? at home we still sing... hartlepool and peterborough only chanted once throughout the game, leyton orient and walsall were like morgues, oldham was alright but when you are further back in the stand you can't hear the opposition fans next to you as well the leeds game at dons had one of the best atmospheres i have seen at a game for a long while, both sets of fans chanting loudly and as the stadium was much fuller the acoustics were better and it sounded absolutely fantastic

Because Franchise fans have such a long and proud history of following their team through thick and thin throughout the ages.

Lovejoy Posted 24 January 2009 Posted 24 January 2009 last time i checked supporting a football team for years did not make your voice louder via some sort of magical transformation Err, shut up, yes it does . Though have to say you have the same problem as us, soulless bowl, hard to generate atmosphere. Having been to both grounds, I have to say that we have a lot more vocal fans than you, only to be expected really , but imo all home atmospheres are guff. Mind you, the Posh away fans were the worst I've seen considering how many they brought .

Northampton were quiet all game but hit the bar pretty hard at half time

And btw are the rumours true that half a million Posh fans are going to B3llend Rd tomorrow? Swear thats what Baz Fry said .
Part Of The Crowd Posted 24 January 2009 Posted 24 January 2009 barry fry is an idiot, he claimed we were only taking 700, we actually took 1108 (although to be honest it felt looked and sounded like about double that) they probably haven't even sold out their allocation i'm sorry the stewards won't let you have a seat, however comfy they are but if you are all standing they won't bother making you sit down, just remember how comfy those seats are though

If we only brought 1,500/2,000 we'd be much better. Still guaranteed plenty of us will stand . Btw, was it the bar that Cobblers destroyed ?
Part Of The Crowd Posted 24 January 2009 Posted 24 January 2009 they were throwing things around and caused quite a bit of damage, looking at youtube it seems it was the only time they actually made any noise... a few seats were damaged and a few of them have been banned from football for coin throwing but mainly the minority of idiots, but still they have been the most 'rebellious' fans to attend the stadium so far, even leeds behaved themselves
