Lions Eat Ice Cream Every Saturday Teatime er. When I was at school Leicester had a chant that all the boys at school used to sing; L-E-I, C-E-S, T-E-R Leicester are the best. That's how I learnt it.

davieG Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 When the hosiery trade was at it's height, before my time I might add people from Leicester were reputed to be known as Woollybacks, but it seems this was more of a generic term for anyone involved in the wool industry.
