lildave3 Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 Jermain Defoe, he's a yiddo. 3-2. Quality goal really.
Edmund Posted 21 January 2009 Author Posted 21 January 2009 defoe 3-2 Fairplay to Burnley they still won even though not on aggregate.
Ultra Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 The league should play two-legged games according to UEFA rules, and count away goals after 90 mins of the 2nd leg.
Edmund Posted 21 January 2009 Author Posted 21 January 2009 Erm, I should go.... You superstitious suffolk?
Porky Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 Regardless, they should be proud of everything they've managed. To knock out three PL sides is a fantastic achievement, and I really hope they go up this season. Would defo be great to see.
LCFC123 Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 The league should play two-legged games according to UEFA rules, and count away goals after 90 mins of the 2nd leg. That's what i thought, i couldn't understand why it's gone to extra time fantastic effort by burnley though
Tommeh Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 I bet they feel exactly how we did at Craven cottage in 07 and earlier this season and Stamford bridge last. Horrible to loose it like that, but I bet it was one Hell of a night up there and certainly one to feel very proud of.
Tevez Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 I can remember the Sainsburys Tom, I really can. I'm getting emotional typing this. Owen Coyles Burnley Army!!!
Uncle Albert Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 The league should play two-legged games according to UEFA rules, and count away goals after 90 mins of the 2nd leg. Why just so Burnley would off gone through? Flid.
Koke Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 Lets just hope Man Utd hammer the Spuds. I bloody hate them .
Ultra Posted 22 January 2009 Posted 22 January 2009 Why just so Burnley would off gone through? Flid. Grow up.
Shrenchel Posted 22 January 2009 Posted 22 January 2009 Fair play to Burnley. Feel the final would have turned out an absolute anti-climax if they'd won though.
Ultra Posted 22 January 2009 Posted 22 January 2009 I'm not so sure. Having beaten Chelsea and Arsenal, Burnley would have fancied giving Manyoo a decent game - especially if Fergie rested some of his big guns. Sadly, now we'll never know..
Darkzzz_ Posted 22 January 2009 Posted 22 January 2009 Unlucky Burnley. Really feel for them, I hope United win the Carling cup final. One reason for that really. I remember when we were in the finals of the League Cup and my mates who support Spurs used to say, "Have your mickey mouse cup" Irony is, that's all Spurs can win, with all there 'Massive' Signings.
Brainy Posted 22 January 2009 Posted 22 January 2009 Why do Burnley have 90mins to score an away goal, but Spurs 120 mins?
shen Posted 22 January 2009 Posted 22 January 2009 Why do Burnley have 90mins to score an away goal, but Spurs 120 mins? Brian Jensen's apparently been bitching about that silly rule too. You could also turn it around and say that Burnley had another 30 mins at home to score another one. After all, the momentum was with them. It's an unlucky defeat, but they must lay most of the blame at their own feet I'm afraid...
