Big Ol' Bob Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 Oh Dear. Couldn't happen to a nicer club... TOTTENHAM striker Jermain Defoe is out for the season after breaking his foot in training. The £15million forward, who has scored three goals in four games since returning from Portsmouth, faces up to three months on the sidelines. A Spurs source said: "It's a massive blow. We don't know exactly how long Jermain will be out but it seems likely it will be at least eight to 10 weeks." The injury is a huge disappointment for manager Harry Redknapp, who brought Defoe back to Spurs - the club he had left for just £7.5million a year earlier. Defoe's injury leaves Spurs with major problems up front and will spark renewed speculation that Redknapp could move for Liverpool's troubled striker Robbie Keane. But with the transfer window closing at 5pm on Monday, the injury could not have come at a worse time for Tottenham.
JoeyB Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 Magic, serves them right for outcasting Darren Bent.

StanSP Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 Not good!!! Just swapped Anelka for Berba in fantasy league. now i have to lose 4 points to swap bloody Defoe!!!
Tommeh Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 I bet Spurs fans wern't making the same fuss when Tunch was ruled out. Proof if it was ever needed that anything will be discussed on here these days.

That's probably because Spurs fans don't talk about League One. There's a lot of chat about the Premiership on here (even a Premiership prediction league) so it's hardly surprising that an England international player who plays for a Premiership team has a topic crop up when he's out for three months. It's been like this in the four and a half years I've been on here. Hardly an indictment that "anything will be discussed on here these days".

Tommeh Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 Aren't you FC Uniteding it? No chance. It would have contridicted my reason for not going Northampton ( which is money) Almost regretting not going tomorrow now. If Walsall wasn't coming up so soon I don't know where I'd be!
Filbert_Ross Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 ive found no evidence of this injury anywhere.

Not consistent and, with no link to show and nothing on Sky Sports News, I don't believe you
Filbert_Ross Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 when i read this bullshit post i was gutted cus i bet my mate £20 that Defoe would score more goals in all competitions than Crouch this season, I searched everywhere for news- jack shit. unless they train at 7.59pm friday night

StanSP Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 If it isn't true, what sad person would create a thread about nothing . Pointless. However, if it is true, it could have been a freak accident at home. They do happen! I wouldn't just yet if I was you.... wink.gif Unfortunately, I already have

Not consistent and, with no link to show and nothing on Sky Sports News, I don't believe you It's because in many professions, you spell the words between one and nine, but from 10 onwards you use numbers. It's not a conspiracy. when i read this bullshit post i was gutted cus i bet my mate £20 that Defoe would score more goals in all competitions than Crouch this season, I searched everywhere for news- jack shit. unless they train at 7.59pm friday night It was on Sky News just now. Big Ol' Bob Posted 30 January 2009 Author Posted 30 January 2009 Its in the news of the screws mate so pipe down. Why the fook would I sit and create a news story about defoe <_<
Ultra Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 From Sky Sports.. Sky Sports News understands Tottenham will be without striker Jermain Defoe for three weeks with a foot injury. The ex-Portsmouth ace scored in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the struggling Potters, but is thought to have injured himself in training on Friday. While some early reports suspect Defoe could be out for the rest of the season, it is more likely he will be out of action for just less than a month. The 26-year-old marksman could now miss Spurs' upcoming matches against Bolton, Arsenal and the first leg of their Uefa Cup clash against Shakhtar Donetsk. With Defoe set for a short spell on the sidelines manager Harry Redknapp may step up his efforts to bring former hero Robbie Keane back to White Hart Lane .
DB11 Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 Found this: http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_4874992,00.html Sky Sports News understands Tottenham will be without striker Jermain Defoe for three weeks with a foot injury. It's because in many professions, you spell the words between one and nine, but from 10 onwards you use numbers. It's not a conspiracy. Ah that's interesting and helpful. Thanks
StanSP Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 Its in the news of the screws mate so pipe down. Why the fook would I sit and create a news story about defoe <_< At the time this article was originally created, no one could find any news stories about it.
