Trouble before the game

Recommended Posts

I've been told Hibberian came down yesterday with about 50 - 100 lads and teamed up with Oldham yesterday to take on Leicester.

Didn't they used to join up with DLF aswell? Or was that Aberdeen? I know they got some 'associates' up Scotland but can't remember who.

Trouble in loughborough aswell, loads of police outside of a pub, Oldham fans locked inside :giggle:

no trouble in Loughborough. I was on a booze bus that stopped in Loughborough. We phoned the Wetherspoons during the week as they'd said they'd gladly take us in. Only problem was we couldnt seem to find it, so ended up in the Toby Carvery place.

The original sight of 44 lads who'd been drinking since 10am piling into the quiet family pub didnt go down very well. Everyone was well behaved in there. There wasnt even a song sung.

Oldham's football intelligence officer came in when we'd been there a good hour and half or so, along with a few Leicester police and checked to see whether "Cookie" (PC Cooke) as he's known found any of us to be considered a threat/risk supporter. Seeing that no one was, Cookie offered us a choice - as instructed to do from the Leicester dibble he was with. Stay there or get escorted near the ground too the Counting House/Sports Bar as according to Leicester dibble it had Man City on and that swung it for most people who wanted to go and cheer on the 'boro.

We were in there for a fair old while, stuck in the corner near the pool table. Got talking to some Leicester fans sat in the corner. Had a good sing song as everyone mingled together. Even Bernie?? or whatever he's called. Who got one of the biggest laughs of the day when he barged past the biggest bloke in the pub to get to the bar.

A number of Leicester fans did come over and look originally to have a bit of a hump with us being there and so noisy but they turned out to be sound in the end. Had a good natter with one of them for ages. Played doubles against them and didnt have any problems. I even walked the ground with them as everyone had left by that point a few minutes before K/O. Shook hands and went our way. One of our lot even saw them after the game and had a quick chat to one of them about the game.

Two off the bus didnt bother going the game. Mainly because they were too interested in alcohol after 7 hours drinking. They had a decent time in there with the few Leicester fans who didnt bother going the ground either.

As for the trouble at the Peel. That's the reason our booze bus and another one, along with all the mini buses (two of which had those that caused the trouble) got escorted 30 miles up the motorway before the Police decided to leave us alone. Didnt even need to speak with one of the lads at half time to find out about what had happened, as the amount of police in that away end and concourse at half time told everything.

Dont know where that Latics fan is getting Man City fans from. Think he's got an incident at Hereford mixed up and put two and two together and got five. They're Oldham fans (who happen to have a liking for Man City) - which is why they were at Leicester and not in Manchester.

Found your fans to be some of the best i've met in years. Very knowledgable and the only side to come down from the Championship - with a bigger than most status (city, leeds, forest, wednesday, etc) who havent had a chip on their shoulder and the big I am. Despite being top of the league.

Its always the minority spoiling it for us on away games, we seem to have our fair share of idiots that are intent on causing trouble.

The late Kick off did nothing to help things but that’s never an excuse, when we got stuffed off Hereford away Hereford fans weren’t interested in hassle so the Idiots turned on themselves and even managed to get a mention on ssn for fighting each other in the Ground!

Oldham Lads these days seem hell bent on Killing or destroying everything, Oldham as a night out is pure Hell these days, and as a place well....................

shut up you plank. did you see it, did you know about it, how it started, who started it. dont comment on something you know nothing about
