I actually think that I tempted fate on Saturday morning when I was taking the mick out of my brother singing 'You couldn't play for Rushden & Diamonds' and then go and see what happened, I couldn't believe it! :olol:unsure:

I think we should donate to saveourclub and help keep this club afloat. You only have to look at Halifax, Scarborough and Telford to realise that clubs aren't always lucky enough to find a wealthy benefactor to step in and save them from extinction, especially at this level of football.

They'd probably be better off starting again ala Telford really. More of an adventure and Weymouth have been on the down ever since they reached the conference a few years ago.

From the Warrior himself? Mate I go to as many Leicester games I can. At least people have MET me.

Walkers is too preoccupied visiting the 92 league grounds to meet people.

This game is now subject to some legal investigation by the authorities - there's talks about some heavy one-sided betting.

Apparently, more people placed their bets on Rushden & Diamonds after learning that most first-team Weymouth players had gone "on strike" and didn't show up because they hadn't been paid their regular salary on time prior to the game.

Oh, and the Weymouth player exodus is on the way:

Weymouth fans won over £1m after betting they were going to lose, they heard the team sheet before the bookies lol

Probably more than enough money to buy the club and get all the fleeing players back... lol

That is where you are both wrong. There is no way it was all weymouth fans betting as the numbers dont add up. If it was all weymouth fans they would have had to each put on £500 which is highly unlikely, Word spreads around quite easily through players and what not so thats where most of the bets were put down by people in the know of the conference. Because of this piece of bad journalism i'm sure people will now think "well don't need to donate any money to save the club now their fans have got £1,000,000" which is a damn shame. Piss poor journalism! hope it doesn't cost the club in terms of donations! i urge you all to give, i'm sure none of you would like this to happen to leicester.

Don't worry mate we've been through it!

I'm in the unenviable position of being both a Leicester and Weymouth fan, alternating watching them both play over the last 18 years. I've got to say that the Weymouth fans have put up with a lot over the last few years and gave the young lads playing vs Rushden fantastic support on Saturday. Everyone is trying their hardest to save the club and it is good to know that most City fans remember how it was for us once upon a time.

Has anyone else attempted to purchase shares for Weymouth? I was gonna send a donation anyway but then saw the share option so thought I'd go for that.... I know the shares are worth bugger all and will probably be lost before to long but it's nice to have!

not sure if it's been mentioned elswhere but apparently we are going to loan them some players

my flat mate is a York City fan and he's pissed as they might not batter them now?

"Lewer told Echosport last week that Peterborough United and Leicester City were both willing to offer the club players free of charge to help ease their current plight but it is unclear whether any deals have been struck. "

Good call by Pearson if this is true.

I'm sure Jonathan Hayes and Harry Worley (yes, they're both still on our books) would be glad of a game somewhere..
