This made me annoyed, as R+D could have played a youth team as a show of solidarity to Weymouth but they chose to go for a hollow victory. Not much fair play there

Weymouth are going to be playing their youth team for the rest of the season. As humiliating as the scoreline was, it is unfair to expect other clubs to field weakened sides, as they have their own points to win. The Weymouth board have created a million shares in the club, at 50 pence each in the hope that they can clear their £300,000 debt.

It's not the Diamonds' problem that Weymouth are in crisis.

That is true, but it isn't nice to to see clubs go down, and especiallly as they have been forced to play their youth team, then get a 9-0 drubbing. I wonder if Pearson can sort them out with some loanees?

They can have Dickov for a start! And Levi and Worley too ...

fooking lol and what if they'd lost?!

Do you think chelsea or man yoo should field a team of free transfer lower league journeymen if they draw a league one or two side in the cup? Just so it's not a hollow victory like.

OK, I may have been hasty in deeming it a hollow victory. I don't think that man utd should play a squad of journeymen but then their situation is not like Weymouth. Weymouth have to play their under 18s and I don't think it's too much of an ask for R+D or any other BSP team to rest a few first teamers. And if they'd lost? Would have been hilarious!

Oooh No not Weymouth, please god anyone but Weymouth. How am I going to survive without this amazing team anymore in english football.......

I'd love to see you say that to the 000's of people who have been involved in any way at the club playing, managing, supporting etc. since it all started in 1890.

They are a football club with supporters, who may be left without a club to follow every Saturday. Just because they aren't "massive" or "world-reknowned" doesn't mean they aren't important to many people.

I'm sure that many people in Weymouth have similar attitudes to yours which is why they're in these difficulties.

I think we should donate to saveourclub and help keep this club afloat. You only have to look at Halifax, Scarborough and Telford to realise that clubs aren't always lucky enough to find a wealthy benefactor to step in and save them from extinction, especially at this level of football.
