davieG Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 Academy Smash Villa Posted on: Sat 11 Apr 2009 Leicester City's under 18s side demolished fellow high-flyers Aston Villa 5-1 on Saturday. The Foxes went into the game in third place - but have now leapfrogged Villa into second behind Tottenham Hotspur following the win - with the top spot not out of reach. Tom Parkes, Elliott Chamberlain (2), Lee Cox and Jorrin John grabbed the all important goals on the day. Academy manager Jon Rudkin said: "We played as well as we have all season today - it really was an outstanding performance from the lads. "We have still got a chance of catching Tottenham at the top - but we have to rely on the slipping up. We will certainly be giving our all in a bid to catch them." City: Ambrusic, O'Neill, Bolger, Parkes, Cobb, Cox, Milne, Yusef (Hicks), Chamberlain (Schlupp), Kee (John), C King.
Salieri Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 Great stuff. I don't really follow the academy results. Who's our most promising youngster(s)?
Edmund Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 Elliott Chamberlain seems to have a bright future ahead of him. Scores week in week out.
Father Ted Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 Great stuff.I don't really follow the academy results. Who's our most promising youngster(s)? O'Neill has already made his first team debut, Tom Parkes is England Under -17(?) captain. Billy Kee is a monster!
FoxesFan123 Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 I don't understand the fixtures/table/groups. If Chelsea, Portsmouth and Fulham aren't in our group, why are they the teams left to play in our fixtures?

Ithink it's a bit like the American Football in that you are in separate leagues but you play teams in the other leagues.
Thracian Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 That's some result and great encouragement to a still young team which has done far better than I expected, especially after a fairly faltering first half of the season. Such a pity though that they seem to have nowhere to go thereafter.

Is Garner on loan or gone permanently to Mansfield?
