Filbert_Ross Posted 29 April 2009 Posted 29 April 2009 right, started to put all my cd's onto my computer then onto my ipod, but any albums which have 'featured' artists like Dizzee Rascal albums and Beastie Boys dont appear on my 'artists' list on my ipod but appear under Various in the compilations list, for example- 'various- doy in da corner' can I change this?? Mark Ronsons- versions, only appears in the 'compilations' list and not in 'artists' too.
Filbert_Ross Posted 29 April 2009 Author Posted 29 April 2009 move to music discussion if you want...
Mickey O'Neil Posted 29 April 2009 Posted 29 April 2009 Go to the track on iTunes>Right Click track>Get Info>Info (tab)>DEselect compilation At least I think that is what you're asking Does it say Various in either Artist or Album in iTunes? You can change this btw

Filbert_Ross Posted 14 May 2009 Author Posted 14 May 2009 right simular type of problem again, just imported from cd- DR Dre- the Chronic and after its been imported and i look in the itunes library the album has been split into about ten sections. for example it looks like 'dr dre feat snoop dogg' the chronic dr dre feat whoever the chronic and does not have all the album in one place. i unchecked 'part of a compilation' before i imported it too. any ideas??

I assume they have the album name the same? Select that album and just change the artist to just "Snoop Dogg", or leave the artists seperate and change the album artist to "Snoop Dogg". That might help

Select that album and just change the artist to just "Snoop Dogg", or leave the artists seperate and change the album artist to "Snoop Dogg". That might help Yeah, thats right but you'd want to change the Album artist to Dr. Dre rather than Snoop Dogg for the Chronic but the principles of what to do is right!
Smudge Posted 14 May 2009 Posted 14 May 2009 The best place to organize your music is in the itunes folder, wherever that is stored. mine is in a sub folder of "My Music". Make a new folder in itunes folder for say "Snoop Dog" then in that folder make and name another for the album you have. After that move all the songs that are from that album into the new album folder. You will have to delete the entries in itunes that are in the compilation. Finally import your new album into itunes.
hairy Posted 14 May 2009 Posted 14 May 2009 Easier still dont use itunes to rip and tag. I use dbpoweramp to rip to mp3 then tag using MP3tag which finds the album info online for you but you have to maually add the artwork and then import to your itunes library. Peice of piss for a lazy git like me.
