Matt Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 Burnley manager Owen Coyle has distanced himself from reports of an impending move to Celtic. The 42-year-old is Celtic's top target to replace the departed Gordon Strachan and the Glasgow club wanted to conclude a deal by the end of the week. But Coyle told the Burnley website: "It is people putting two and two together and making five. "I am going on holiday this weekend and I can assure you I will be doing so as Burnley manager." http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...tic/8070586.stm
ozleicester Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 All this SPL hate seems a little hypocritical, sure only Celtic and Rangers seem to win mostly... but have we looked at the EPL lately Is Fergie having an easy time coz Man u are winning it every second year? Is Jose or whoever just cruising coz Chelsea dominate? the total domination of the top 4 in the EPL is just a minor improvement on the SPL.

Note that it was a year later, 2005/06 Scot Prem season, when the huns got done out of second place by Hearts. This season Man Utd finished 27 points clear of 5th place, while the huns finished 27 points clear of 3rd place. Two horse race or four horse race, take your pick. Either way if you're a small fish swimming with big fish you're gonna get fucked.
Red Leicester Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 if you're a small fish swimming with big fish you're gonna get fucked. I must go back and watch my DVD again as I missed that quote.
Joe. Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Coyle wouldn't rule out that he definitely wasn't going to Celtic when Sky Sports interviewed him yesterday, just sort of skipped around the question. My guess is that Celtic haven't really gone for him yet, but he'd want to go given the chance. Burnley would be furious no doubt.

Heard someone make the point the other day that there are plenty of European Leagues where nowadays only 2 or 3 teams have a realistic chance of winning the title. The SPL was the innovator, years ahead of their time.

Never mind about losing an appendage to a shark - the creature is now looking to mount you from behind.

flanimal Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 So, a club like Celtic can't get anyone better than Tony Adams?
Granno Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 Adams will definatley give them a 'sporting chance' of success.
dandannieldanok Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 Tony Adams potentially managing in the champions league..............................................
Granno Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 Tony Adams potentially managing in the champions league.............................................. :crylaugh: From Wycombe via some places to Celtic, like a certain other manager!
Matt Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 Right maybe I am being abit shortsighted, or hypocritical of the SPL but if Tony Adams does well at Celtic which I think he will (Because I think it's true and i'm right) it just proves what a shit league and anyone (Almost) can manage Celtic and Rangers and do well.

He even says himself 'you have a 50% chance of winning something', so yeah, I totally agree with you.
