That is true but I don't like seeing someone who was a big help in getting us back to the premiership in 2002-2003 being called sh*t. I admit he is not as good as he was 4 years ago but the point I make is this... A player can't score something like 8 goals in 12 starts for Blackpool in the Championship and then drop a division lower about 4 months later and all of a sudden go sh*t.

He scored some top quality goals for Blackpool last season, some of them were 25 yard volleys and deft lobs over the keeper, they weren't flukes or tap in's.

It must have been the back injury and surgery that affected his game thereafter, he feared he would never play again at one point. I agree you have a right to question the fact he's on the kind of wages that we could have spent on someone who scored more goals last season but I still like Dickov. Football fans are really fickle, after all the goals he scored and hard work he gave for us on the pitch in his first stint for the club... We forget about all of it and just lay into him like he's a piece of dirt <_<

Oh Andrew, what have i told you :rolleyes:lol

from what I read it sounds like we signed him carrying a back injury and then the surgery finished him off.

would we have been better off keeping him without the surgery?

out of respect for what he did during his 1st stint I would let him stay the 2nd year and have him try to move to a coaching role if it becomes obvious his 1st team contribution isnt sufficient,

And what would you plan to do next if his coaching abilities aren't sufficient?

Do you believe all old players can make coaches simply because you valued a playing contribution years ago?

Could we coach him into being a good coach?

If not could we get him a job working for stagecoach or can he not sit for too long with his dodgy back? Maybe he could specialise in local tours, showing the wonders of Leicester? Ricky Ponting could be one of his first customers?

Do you reckon Stagecoach would put up a percentage of his weekly wage, we could loan him out or is that not in-line with F.A rules?
