FilboFox Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 I was just thinking about the yellow card rule in Rugby the other day and thought it could be used in football too... so if a player gets a yellow card, they would be sent to the dugout for 10 minutes and then let back on. It could possibly deter people from diving so much because it could lead to a yellow and would certainly make people think twice before leaping in to tackle hard against players... What does everyone think about this idea?
Father Ted Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 It's been thought about before but my answer is 'No'
Jon the Hat Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 The best way to stop people diving is to suspend them after the game if an independent panel thinks they have deliberatley dived and the ref has missed it or got it wrong. 3 match ban.
lcfc_jme Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 lol Ridiculous thread. Definitive answer of "no" to all points raised. No hard-tackling? Might as well have a sponge ball and all wear slippers.
The Doctor Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 double Barrel shotgun. thats a rather extreme way of dealing with divers isn't it?
StanSP Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 lol Ridiculous thread. Definitive answer of "no" to all points raised. No hard-tackling? Might as well have a sponge ball and all wear slippers. That reminded me of what De Villiers (SA rugby coach) said about playing ballet instead. In relation, hard-tackling is just part of the game.
