haraven Posted 1 August 2009 Posted 1 August 2009 Is Stevenson still playing football? I remember this small striker scoring on of the first 2 goals I saw at Filbert Street in a 2-2 against Villa. Piper was sold to Sunderland, but got a bad injury real early. Did he ever recover? And how about Tommy Wright - I remember on the official OS some were great fans of him, then he just vanished off my radar.
Joe. Posted 1 August 2009 Posted 1 August 2009 Saw Jon Stevenson in his Boston United gear on the train last season. Always love him for his goal at home to Villa.
Asha Posted 1 August 2009 Posted 1 August 2009 Didn't he score a cracker at Ipswich as well, from about 25 yards? Think that's the game we lost 6-1.
Joe. Posted 1 August 2009 Posted 1 August 2009 Just looked, soccerbase reckons he's at Tamworth these days.

He did to equalise but the keeper should have got it. Tommy Wright went to Aberdeen for about 250k if I remember. Legend for that goal vs. Forest.
Ajax Treesdown Posted 1 August 2009 Posted 1 August 2009 He did to equalise but the keeper should have got it.Tommy Wright went to Aberdeen for about 250k if I remember. Legend for that goal vs. Forest. According to his bro, Danny he's on £8000 a week.
GianEmmo Zola Posted 1 August 2009 Posted 1 August 2009 piper has had a few outings for bardon of all places! my bro plays for them tommys still at aberdeen, hes family jon stevenson is at halesowen.
haraven Posted 1 August 2009 Author Posted 1 August 2009 Always had a soft spot for Stevenson after he scored for us versus Villa in my first match ever in Leicester Think Muzzy scored the other on a penalty. Piper was awesome at the wing in his days, a real shame he got injured so bad. Best of luck to Wright, if he is on 8000£ a week he must be in a good spot
Dan Posted 1 August 2009 Posted 1 August 2009 Was it Jon Stevenson who scored a cracker at Wimbledon in a 3-2 win or was that Jordan Stewart?
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 1 August 2009 Posted 1 August 2009 Was it Jon Stevenson who scored a cracker at Wimbledon in a 3-2 win or was that Jordan Stewart? That was Jordan Stewart from the left hand side of the box. Stevenson scored vs Ipswich away that year then just disappeared. Jon Ashton played in that match too. He disappeared too, I think he went Northampton and Oxford not got a clue where he is now. If I recall he had a long throw.
barmy76uk Posted 1 August 2009 Posted 1 August 2009 According to his bro, Danny he's on £8000 a week. He must be the highest paid player in scotland then! I imagine the Aberdeen players arent on very good wages because most of there decent players if they have ever had any go to championship and league 1 teams!

If I recall he had a long throw. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/highla...nds/7387782.stm Players 'danced' during vandalism Macdonald Aviemore Highland Resort Hotels involved in the incidents include Aviemore Highland Resort Two English footballers allegedly danced in a street of a Highlands town after wrapping themselves in lager advertising banners. Danny Foster, 23, a former captain of Tottenham Hotspurs' youth team, and Jon Ashton, 25, an ex-Leicester City player each face three counts of vandalism. It was alleged they took down banners outside Aviemore's Cairngorm Hotel, the base of the Highland Tartan Army. The pair have been ordered to appear at Inverness District Court. Foster and Ashton also allegedly damaged an information board outside the hotel, used by Highlands based supporters of Scotland's national football team. It is claimes they then went to the nearby Macdonald Aviemore Highland Resort and took down two more advertising banners. The vandalisms were said to have been carried out on 28 May last year. The pair have twice failed to appear at two court hearings. Foster, once capped by England at under-18 level, is now a defender for League Division Two side Dagenham and Redbridge. Ashton started his career with Leicester City before moving to Notts County. He then joined Oxford Utd, moved to Rushden and Diamonds, and now plays with Conference League side Grays Athletic. Medical evidence When they were due to appear at the district court last month, Foster's club sent a fax claiming he could not travel due to injury. The same has happened at a second calling of the case. Justices have ordered both Foster and Ashton to appear for an intermediate diet at the court next month - or provide independent medical evidence proving they are unfit to travel. A trial is set down for 25 June. plays for Stevenage Borough now I believe.
