Just looked at the scorecard, they dropped Rashid?!?! Why on earth do you drop your best player from the last match, ridiculous decision.

Yeah I missed the beginning of the coverage so not sure of the reason but there has to be an explanation, especially considering Strauss was praising him after the last odi.

Running out of wickets.

Yeh will be tough to win from here , need Colly to shine and somebody to stick with him

Bresnan looked like a bag of nerves, might have been better to put Swann in first

Shame, we started off well, batting above the required run rate and it all went to pieces so quickly.

A case of defeat snatched from the jaws of victory :dunno:

Kind of, although we were never really in a great match-winning position. Key wickets fell before we even got within 100 of their total.

As we were up on the run rate I'd say the wickets were thrown away going for big hits rather than getting lots of 1s and 2s which was all that was needed.

Your both right but I was quietly confident that we would reach the desired total up until the key wickets. You can't take it away form Australia though they bowled well.

I just hope we don't lose the series 7-0.

Very true, but this is England who have become notorious for batting collapses in ODI's in recent years so you can't really say defeat snatched from the jaws of victory because we never actually threatened the total.

Nope, must be some moron pen-pusher selector in an office somewhere who looked at his figures and thought no wicket so he must have been crap, with Strauss too spineless to disagree.

But seriously got no clue.

Sky said that with Broad injured, an extra bataman was required to restore the balance of the side.

The fact that today's game was at Lord's, Eoin Morgan's home ground, may also have had something to do with it.

But I thought it was incredibly harsh on Rashid to be dropped after his efforts in the previous game.

I hope he'll return for the next match.

I love when rashid wasn't in your line up thought he was good in the first game. Great to see why finally getting a decent hit and doing ok.

Michael Bevan > Michael Hussey > Callum Fergusan just quality batting needed in the final 25 overs ticking over the scoreboard like bevo and more recently Hussey and boof Leahman

Hard to believe i'm sure but i've actually got a life outside of foxestalk you clueless disabled! Finished your pie yet? It sure was a biggun.

With regards to the cricket, this is the worst Australian one day team i've ever seen. They're pretty much on our level now which must be a concern.
