purpleronnie Posted 15 September 2009 Posted 15 September 2009 It was always only an average score on that pitch, I really thought we had a chance when I heard Lee was being rested. Yet again no batsman stepped up and got a match winning score. Law of averages states it has to happen soon, not sure how you correct it, maybe work on the batsmens concentration or shot selection. I just hope they are actually working on it.
Corky Posted 15 September 2009 Posted 15 September 2009 7-0 whitewash on the cards Oh definitely. Well played the Aussies, been far better than us in all departments.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 15 September 2009 Posted 15 September 2009 Punter batted really well some great shots
dogadug Posted 15 September 2009 Posted 15 September 2009 Punter batted really well some great shots fair play to him
Joe. Posted 15 September 2009 Posted 15 September 2009 Ouch. This was always going to be heavy though with our recent one day record. Would be nice to get at least one bloody win, but I'm not holding my breath.
Edmund Posted 16 September 2009 Author Posted 16 September 2009 Can't believe it. When I last saw the score it was 299 thought we had it in the bag. Shocked to come in and discover we lost. We really are not having a good series. Oh well a least we achieved a good score for once.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 16 September 2009 Posted 16 September 2009 I'm just glad we are playing consitently
dogadug Posted 16 September 2009 Posted 16 September 2009 I'm just glad we are playing consitently More like we're playing consistantly bad
Brainy Posted 16 September 2009 Posted 16 September 2009 Perhaps now, people will start to realise that maybe, just maybe Australia might just happen to have a better side than ours?
Fox You Forest Posted 16 September 2009 Posted 16 September 2009 Perhaps now, people will start to realise that maybe, just maybe Australia might just happen to have a better side than ours? Lets be honest, Bangladesh are the only ODI side out of the full members that aren't better than us and they look good at times.
purpleronnie Posted 16 September 2009 Posted 16 September 2009 I hope we recapture some form before SAafrica because that really could be embarrassing.
Corky Posted 16 September 2009 Posted 16 September 2009 Perhaps now, people will start to realise that maybe, just maybe Australia might just happen to have a better side than ours? They do have a better side than ours, that was never in doubt.
JimmyK Posted 16 September 2009 Posted 16 September 2009 Was at this yesterday (of course I had a portable radio with me to listen to the Leicester match though ). Eoin Morgan, who I knew absolutely nothing of beforehand, had a pretty decent game I thought. Hussey's dropping of that catch was marvellously drawn out, they took several opportunities to replay that on the big screen. The guys dressed as convicts doing a dance whenever we got a boundary was a nice touch too. When Australia's innings began it started out pretty well imo. Then Mr. Ponting appeared and the rest is well known, as least we had a good bit of celebrating when he was finally caught out.
Milky Posted 17 September 2009 Posted 17 September 2009 That's one of the worst decisions i've ever seen. Smacks strauss on the shoulder, miles away from his bat and gloves. Perhaps he wants to get home early.

Perhaps he wants to get home early. Absolutely appalling, in fact it was so bad I'm surprised Lee appealed fro it. Well I'm not really because most sports people seem to feel the need to deceive the officials if they get the chance.

It looked like he gave it based on the aussie reaction!
purpleronnie Posted 17 September 2009 Posted 17 September 2009 Another Aussie batsman stepped up, lets hope for the first time this series an english batsman can get a match winning score.
purpleronnie Posted 17 September 2009 Posted 17 September 2009 Another Aussie batsman stepped up, lets hope for the first time this series an english batsman can get a match winning score. Not gonna happen is it? Listening to atherton stating 'looking at the england team its a list of losers rather than a team of winners' was a bit harsh but as far as ODI's...true.
Porky Posted 17 September 2009 Posted 17 September 2009 ! Sorry..I would normally post something a lot more constructive..but I just don't know what else to say!! A team full of losers indeed.
dogadug Posted 17 September 2009 Posted 17 September 2009 England look as though they're going to set a new record The heaviest series defeat in ODI history! No team has ever lost a 7 match series 7-0 in 87 matches But England look certain to be the first, unless the rain can save them!
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 18 September 2009 Posted 18 September 2009 Good to know we got a good back up keeper in Tim Paine.
