England v Australia - One Day Internationals

The lack of players getting big totals is one of the big reasons, rarely does an english player hit a match winning score with the bat.

Fair play to the tail enders though.

Who knows? It will take a great display from the bowlers to keep this tight.

Still got the Ashes Roo, that's all that matters :P

But I would love us to improve at one-day cricket. It'd be great to win a World Cup./

Don't see it happening while we don't take it seriously though.

My real annoyance with the national side at the moment is the fact that we invented Twenty20 and yet manage to be terrible at it on the international stage!

So, 0-3 down with four to play.

Can you see a whitewash? :(

It really doesn't surprise me why were struggling behind other nations. I look to the weather as the main factor. Countries like India, SA and Australia have much nicer weather all year. Not to mention cricket is arguably our third sport where in most it is first or second in terms of popularity. The Aussies also ply there trade in England during there so called winter.

I'm just really pleased with how well Tighty Whites and Fergussun have been going it just goes to show that making plenty of runs in first class cricket puts you in great stead for international cricket as is the quality of our domestic teams.

When i went to see Cam Whites first first class game when he was 18 he was a #10 bat and billed as the next Shane Warne. Even by 21 he was captaining Victoria and a promising Spinner who was improving with the bat. But as a Captain he was too scared to bowl himself and has now turned him self in too a consistent power hitting Batsman who bowls every so often. Great to see him getting his chance up the order doing his confidence no harm.

Did White play a part in the ashes? Can't remember seeing him. Also whats happened to Andrew Symonds? I heard something about him moving to New Zealand. I take it his international career is over?

Na White has only played a couple of Tests in India 12 months ago but he was picked as a #8 bat and predominatly for his leggies....he bowled poo cos he rarely bowls but batted ok in what was a poor series for alot of players.

Simo is gone who knows where he is off to he will just collect his $1M+ IPL contract just for turning up. Wont ever play for Australia again.

Big loss for you guys was a quality player. He must be getting on a bit now, seems to have been around forever.
