AjcW Posted 13 September 2009 Posted 13 September 2009 i am french sometimes i look your team because i like it and i hope leicester come in first league next year but why maxi gradel is out of team? the coach dont trust what happen?? for him have you got ideas?? Maxi is a little out of his depth in the championship, I feel maybe he found his level last year, hopefully not... a loan move back down to league one may be on the cards. Maxi est hors de sa profondeur dans le championnat. Il a besoin d'un prêt à la ligue une
Thracian Posted 13 September 2009 Posted 13 September 2009 Have you seen him play up front for any prolonged period? I haven't and I'm just curious as to how you know this I watched him against Barnsley and Newcastle and I've read comments from Blackburn supporters. He's got some skill and vision but I wouldn't call him especially quick. I'd be more than happy for him to persuade me otherwise.

Exactly how much football have you seen him play in the Championship to draw that conclusion? "Give em time to adjust," is a favourite plea on behalf of new signings joining us to play in the Championship but no-one seems interested in the likes of Kingy or Gradel getting the same opportunity.

Kingy YES! Maxi NO. I think your observation of nguessan in the other thread was a bit off to be fair. He's strong both in the air and on the ground(Maxi has 1 of those things) and he has in my opinion much better technique(basically he can be skilful but unlike maxi he will keep hold of the ball, oh and he is better at crossing also)... I personally thought maxi was hit and miss in league 1 so im happy with who is playing on the wing now in the championship.

I'd agree N'Guessan looks strong in the air - a point that argues for him playing as a central striker rather than a winger. Both he and Max are inconsistent crossers and equally inconsistent on the ball as well. Times N'Guessan gets a call to pass and inexplicably ignores it while at other times he just runs into a cul-de-sac. Defensively I don't think he's anywhere near as energetic as Max who seemed to be improving no end in that department. But this isn't really about my preferring one or the other - I'd probably play em both and even at the same time on occasions. Then both would get proper chance to adjust to the new level.
dogadug Posted 14 September 2009 Posted 14 September 2009 Bring in Maxi - drop Dyer, he's not done anything good in the Championship, but continues to get played
Dr The Singh Posted 14 September 2009 Posted 14 September 2009 Weale - 7 Neilson - 6 Hobbs - 5.5 Brown - 5.5 Berner - 6 N'Guessan - 5.5 Oakley - 6 Wellens - 6.6 Dyer - 5 Howard 6.5 Fryatt - 7
shlyser Posted 14 September 2009 Posted 14 September 2009 thanks for your answers. I hope that he will hang on to earn his place because I know the player when we were young in bets we played together I shall be sad that he does not arrive there
morris1234 Posted 14 September 2009 Posted 14 September 2009 Weale - 7, solid once again, im starting to like him a lot, good all round keeper! Neilson - 6 , shakey start but grew in confidence later on! Hobbs - 5.5 , felt for him on saturday, just wasnt awake at all, didnt close down. but he will bounce back! Brown - 7 , made countless tackles and headers, so experienced, made one missed interception for the goal! Berner - 7.5 , bruno! solid once again, did brilliantly! good tackles, good blocks! N'Guessan - 6, looked dangerous but didnt seem to get into the game, id prefer it if he went looking for the ball and communicated more. Oakley - 7, took him time to get into it but once again another good performance from the captain. Wellens - 6.5, set up fryatt with some quick thinking, played ok. Dyer - 5.5, had a much better start to the second half, but doesnt seem to want to run at defenders for some reason. looked lost! Howard 7, did not stop, battled well again. could and probably should have scored. Fryatt - 8, took his goals well and i personally thought he was a threat all day, got into the box a few times, looks stronger on the ball.
