dogadug Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 Weale 7 - Looked confident, and caught all balls crossed into the area Neilsson 7 - By far his best performance Hobbs 7 - Solid and composed throughout Brown 5.5 - Some woeful distribution, and was at fault for goal, but made up for that by winning virtually every header Berner 6.5 - Good solid performance, as well as providing good suppor N'Guessan 7 - Made some excellent runs, and skinned defenders with ease, but lacked final product Oakley 7.5 - A true captains performance, chasing everything up in attack and in defence, and coming up with some great passes Wellens 7 - Slightly overshadowed by Oakley, but still a great performance, as he even had to play on the left for a period. Dyer 6 - Tried, but things just didn't happen for him Howard 6 - Won lots of headers, but thats about it Fryatt 9 - Made lots of excellent runs, looked very liely, and took his goals well - MOTM King 6 - Steady performance Waghorn 6 - Chased everything down

Cropwellfox Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 Weale 7 - Great reaction and block after they hit the post, and pretty commanding throughout Neilson 7 - Did simple things well today, they didn't look like threatening too much down the left today Hobbs 6 - Will assume the sun was in his eyes when he completely missed that header in the second half Brown 6 - Lost a mark for his lapse, solid game and a lovely canter/stagger out of defence late on. If he hadn't been tripped i'm sure he'd gave continued right through and scored Berner 8 - Fast becoming a favourite. Positive in all his play today, and when the ball was smashed into his face he swayed back ever so slightly stood bolt upright for 5 seconds, shrugged and ran back into the area. Never looked like hitting the deck - Quality! N'Guessan 7 - Used as an outlet for most of the second half, especially when Howard went off, and did OK, got into a couple of good positions without quite managing the finish Oakley 6 - Busy performance, great free kick which deserved a goal, but they seemed to have a lot of space to run into through midfield on a few occasions Wellens 7 - Great thinking for Fryatt's first sees his rating above Oakley's, linked up play reasonably well Dyer 6 - Covered a lot of ground today, and had a better second half than first. I'm still to be convinced he's got the speed of thought to match his pace in this division though Fryatt 9 - Two cool and composed finishes, and could have had a couple more if the flag wasn't so quick to be held up, and if he hadn't bizarrely ran in front of Howard when we were 2 on 1 Howard 8 - Did his job well. Looked leggy second half - failed to react properly to a ball across which he would have buried if he had - was clearly frustrated after this. Runs until he can't any more for the team, and that's enough for me. Waghorn 6 - Couple of decent runs, kept the centre backs on their toes when he came on King 7 - Thought he helped the midfield out a lot. We lost a bit of our shape, but he kept the ball well, put in some good tackles and looked far more switched on than he did against Swansea Gallagher N/A Pearson 9 - even if just for the death-stare he gave the linesman in the second half. Eyes completely fixed on the poor chap for about 30 seconds. Brilliant!
Pete_foxes Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 Weale 7 - came and dealt the balls into the box, good save in first half after Blackpool had hit the bar. Neilson 7 - did nothing wrong all game for me, worked hard, solid game. Hobbs 7.5 - apsolute rock, got his head on everything, superb distribution, the best I have seen from a city centre back in a long long time! Brown 6 - didnt actually have that bad a game, was solid before the goal and redeemed himself somewhat after with some solid headers, he didnt panic after he made the mistake, just got his head down and worked hard, would have given him a 7 had he not been at fault for the goal. Berner 7 - good performance from Bruno, worked hard down the left hand side, got back when needed too, and got forward well on occasions aswell N'guessen 7.5 - beat his man every single time throughout the game, a performance that really caught the eye for me. Dany can still improve his end product, and sometimes his awareness is not what it should be. Oakley 7 - another passionate performance from the captain. Wellens 7 - good game, showed creativity, nice passing ability once more Dyer 6.5 - ok performance from Lloyd, put the effort in I suppose. Fryatt 8 - took his two goals brilliantly, two clear chances for Matty and two goals. Fryatt would not have scored these two goals, my MOTM Howard 6.5 - put the effort in, did the donkey work like usual, may well of had a goal for himself near the end, which he deserved but it wasnt to be. He was obviously disapointed not to have scored, but I have no doubt goals will eventually come for the big man if he keeps working hard! All in all a good performance, defence looked abit uncertain at times, but overall a good performance. Blackpools main threat seemed to beAdebayor Emmanuel-Thomas through the middle of the park.
Candidcamera Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 My first game this season- Weale 7 impressive but can try to distribute the ball too quickly. Neilson 6 better than I imagined and some good distribution Hobbs 7 Continues to impress Brown 6 was important in the second half at times. He has a real problem passing simple pass. Berner 7 good performance and if he attacks can cross a good centre N'Guessan 6 I like his positional play and if his heading improves he will be useful Oakley 7 goos as usual Wellens 8 not so dominant in first half but sewed it up after the second goal Dyer 5 not a lot went for him today Howard 6 just Howard ! Fryatt 8 well done Matty Subs: King important role when came on - well played Pearson 9 good reading of the gamer.
bigneville Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 I didn't make the game today, and had to listen to the commentary in the car. But Tim Flowers made Wayne Brown our MOTM, and I notice a lot of poorish marks for Wayne? What happened?
Candidcamera Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 Oh, and the goal music is a big big improvement. Thanks Kasabian !
Candidcamera Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 Anyone know why Tunchev wasn't a sub today ?

teblin Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 I'm suprised hobbs got so many good marks thought he was poor today. Didn't get didn't do the simple things. I guess he's still only young.
samuel Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 Brown was my MOTM aswell. Second half he didn't let a bean through. If Fryatt had 2 yards more pace, he would be plying his trade in the premiership without a doubt, the boy has skill in abundance! Lloyd Dyer needs to be rested, he is far too immobile for this division. He looks way out of his league! Nigel Pearson doesn't seem to have a Plan B. He struggles with options and waits until about the 60/70 minute every game to make a change. Howard's game has been rumbled already in this league, he is good at what he does but it is too predictable!. Blackpool looked far more inventive today and had players that fancied the forward run!. Leicester were very lucky today and if NP continues in this regimented form, we will be bollocksed!

Webbo Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 Fryatt - 6Waghorn - 7 You've a right to your opinion and you're not the only one with those scores tonight but how can you give Fryatt who scored 2 goals and caused problems to Blackpool's defence all match only 6, yet give Waghorn who achieved the square root of fvck all 7?

A huge point there Webbo!. Why do we get people on loan, i.e pay their wages or at least part of and leave them bench warming? Pearson has some impressive attributes but he also makes some appaling footballing decisions!
Unabomber Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 Anyone know why Tunchev wasn't a sub today ? Pearson told me he suffered some swelling in his knee after the reserve outing.

I put the display in context with the time spent on the pitch. And for the short time Waghorn was on, he did threaten the defense as much as he could and gave them a better run than Fryatt ever did. Fryatt was once lucky to score from an offside position, with only the keeper to beat (alright, an achievement in itself) and a second time being lucky to stand in the right spot at the right time. But individually, Fryatt didn't really show a lot today. He was lacklustre, he was selfish. I guess a 6 is a bit harsh, but I don't see him deserving a 7, sorry. Would change Waggy's 7 to a 6, though.

C-man Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 Fryatt 6? Yes, he was given more time on the ball than he'll probably get again this season, but he constantly looked dangerous, and scored two goals. Waghorn caused zero problems so I don't know what game you were watching.

Apart from a few exceptions, no one really stood out today. And as for Fryatt scoring twice, great. I'm not debating that. I'm questioning the effort put in, and almost everyone was lacking in that department.

As I said you've a right to your opinion but it does make me laugh how the anti-Fryatt brigade can't give him any credit for anything. It's not luck being in the right place at the right time it's part of his skill.

I'm certainly not 'Pro-Fryatt' - I still think he's too greedy - but if you can't appreciate the way he played today then you never will. I have no absolutely idea what you're talking about with regards to effort. I thought they all gave 100% today - the conditions weren't player friendly and we were playing a physical side. We would have lost if we showed a lack of effort.
Daggers Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 Hobbs was bollocks, Neilsen was worse. Wellens continues to send blood into my pre-match flaccid member.
