AjcW Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia"I Got Soul" "I Got Soul" is a song by charity group War Child UK, recorded by "Young Soul Rebels". It is to be released on October 19, 2009. It heavily samples The Killers' "All These Things That I've Done" and also features the line "I Got Soul, But I'm Not a Soldier". A spokesperson for War Child UK has said "We're using the track, based around the hook line ‘I Got Soul, But I’m Not A Soldier’ to draw attention to the 300,000 children who sadly are".[1] [edit]Music video The music video is set in the studio where the song was recorded. It mainly features the Young Soul Rebels singing but also has clips of children in poverty, symbolising what War Child charity is for. The coverart for the single also flashes up occasionally, as does the War Child logo.[2] [edit]Young Soul Rebels The Young Soul Rebels is the name of the various artists that took part in the song: N-Dubz Pixie Lott Tinchy Stryder Frankmusik VV Brown Kid British Chipmunk MPHO Ironik Bashy London Community Gospel Choir McLean Egypt Domino Go Just think this is a really good idea, and a really good interpretation of the killers classic.
Budweiser Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 You know that thread you made about 'songs being ruined for you' or something. Well, this is it.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 It's a nice idea, there's a good reason behind it. But fucking hell, what an awful cover.

purpleronnie Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 Great idea its hard to criticise people doing something for charity, but here goes . Its possibly one of the worst covers ever. Look, for peace in the world im a big supporterAll these kids wanna drink is water I bet he was up for hours thinking that one up. But fair play anyway.
Samilktray Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 Great idea its hard to critize people doing something for charity, but here goes .Its possibly one of the worst covers ever. I bet he was up for hours thinking that one up. But fair play anyway. Gets the point across. Its a chairty single aimed at raising money and awareness for the cause. Why the fuck would someone wanna sit there analysing lyrics to find out the aim of the record? Quite frankly they wouldnt, the song does its job, and hopefully it goes to number 1 purely for the cause. I dont like the song, but jesus, your constant drivel over lyrics n what not is hella boring.
purpleronnie Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 The last thing I wanted to do is bore you. Nothing wrong with charity records but rubbish lyrics are rubbish lyrics, at least put some effort into your songwriting, pride...no? Anyway.....
