dandannieldanok Posted 22 October 2009 Posted 22 October 2009 Your points are spot on Dan but I'm just thinking that physically we wouldn't sign him unless we know he can do a job on and off the pitch and the medical team have procedures in place to establish wether or not he is "past it".Psycholoigcally he may have lost the desire but who's to say he hasn't rekindled this after a break. Anyway we will see. If it does happen and he plays brilliantly I'll be delighted to eat my words and happily admit I'm wrong, I just can't see a happy end to this at all. If we were struggling then I'd see this a welcome distraction, but while were on an upward curve 3 points off top I just don't want us to take a stupid risk. As you say, we will see.
Bluefoxtim Posted 22 October 2009 Posted 22 October 2009 I don't give a toss what he does on the pitch to be honest. Edgar Davids & Leicester.
The Doctor Posted 22 October 2009 Posted 22 October 2009 I think his skill over one famous headbutt would make me want him here at City!! I'd sign zidane for the headbutt (and the fact he appeared on family guy once) . he could easily keep everyone except wayne brown in line, the moment he tries to mess with brown zidane will be the one with the shattered ribcage. Your just assuming this though. Why can't a footballer just retire without justification for his actions. Probably realised he retired to early and missed the game to much. For all we know he may have made this decision in the summer and has been working hard on his fitness and now the time is right. It depends which way you want to look at it at the end of the day, don't just look at it from a negative point of view. Most can. He can't however because he is MASSIVE
dandannieldanok Posted 22 October 2009 Posted 22 October 2009 I don't give a toss what he does on the pitch to be honest.Edgar Davids & Leicester. I do, funnily enough I care more about Leicester the club and what happens on the pitch than the novelty of having a little Dutch bloke with Glaucoma here.
dogadug Posted 23 October 2009 Posted 23 October 2009 Sign him - its a no brainer Even if he performs badly, just think of the publicity and extra people to the games it'll bring
ibbosuk Posted 23 October 2009 Posted 23 October 2009 We are marginal for a top 6 place; he may make an improvement to our top 6 aims, ((should he arrive)). I hope he may attract abit of Dutch quality over here to join him in our quest for the Premiership. Guess I am getting a little tipsy on all the hype....So I am now guardedly optimistic. BUT I still worry about ...... Edgar Davids well known "Moody Temperament" v Nigel Pearson's no nonsense "Management Style"

ibbosuk Posted 23 October 2009 Posted 23 October 2009 If Pearson can get Campbell back playing and eager, i'd like to think he'd be able to handle Davids too I don't think you can compare the two, Davids has been there done it and has got the t-shirt. In the dressing room he would be fully entitled to voice his opinions and for them to be acted upon, it just remains to be seen how loud and opinionated he actually gets. It's a fine line; we don't want him rocking the boat.
h1210 Posted 23 October 2009 Posted 23 October 2009 So whats he doing for 90 minutes on Saturday in Reading??!! Playing for the Tigers?
DB11 Posted 23 October 2009 Posted 23 October 2009 Who let maddog create a new account What a stupid thing to say, in every department.
