Oh because Roach said it that means it's fact, maybe just maybe Roach said it to wind Mayweather up, there will be no fact in that recdiculous statement.

Roach will have to come up with some seriously good tactics if he is going to let Pacquiao in the ring with Money.

Looks like this is on for March 13th then. Only 4 months after Pacquiaos last fight. Wa Wa Wee Waaaah, gald we not got to wait for too long for this, I was expecting it to be nearer to next summer.

It says that bookies are making Mayweather slight favourite at the moment.

March 13th is shockingly early.

Surely they both (Mayeweather) want to milk this for as long as they can and earn as much as they can in the time before the fight?

How much promotion does this fight need?

The quicker they get round to it the more money theyll make.

Obviously the fight speaks for itself, I just thought Mayweather would want to milk it for his ego. It's not confirmed yet, so we'll see.

I can't wait either way.

Floyd has said he is going to knock Pacquiao out. :D

Floyd Mayweather Jr believes he will knock out Manny Pacquiao when boxing's two biggest stars meet in 2010.

The American and the Philippines star, regarded as the world's two best pound-for-pound boxers, are finalising plans for a welterweight meeting on 13 March.

And unbeaten Mayweather, 32, said: "He's been knocked out before and he's taken losses. I'll be victorious."

Mayweather's bold prediction comes as two NFL stadiums are reported to be bidding to host the 'superfight'.

The fights most likely to go ahead on March 13th, 2010. The venue's not confirmed yet, but most likely the MGM Grand. The two "pound for pound" kings of the world, in a welterweight fight. Who do you think will win.

I think it'll be a close one, but I think Mayweather will edge it on points, or a late KO. This will be a fight to watch, one of the greatest of all time!

Mayweather v Pacquiao Clash "in jeopardy"

Floyd Mayweather's camp have claimed the American's planned fight with Manny Pacquiao is "in jeopardy".

Golden Boy Promotions chief executive Richard Schaefer said Pacquiao's promoters Top Rank have stated that the Filipino fighter will not agree to blood-testing in the 30 days prior to the fight, which has been expected to take place in March.

Schaefer said: "Todd (Top Rank president Todd duBoef) told me that Pacquiao has difficulty with taking blood and doesn't want to do it so close to the fight. He, Pacquiao, would only agree to have blood drawn before the kick-off press conference and after the fight."

Mayweather's management have requested that the fighters submit to blood-testing prior to the bout, to ensure both men are clean.

Schaefer added: "It is unfortunate to hear this from Manny Pacquiao's representatives, particularly since, as of today, both parties had worked out all other issues related to this fight."

Mayweather urged Pacquiao to agree to the blood testing.

"I understand Pacquiao not liking having his blood taken, because frankly I don't know anyone who really does," said Mayweather.

"But in a fight of this magnitude, I think it is our responsibility to subject ourselves to sportsmanship at the highest level."

I'm sure Mayweather is just playing games but it should be said that if an endurance athlete (and a boxer is in part this) is not willing to submit themselves to random out of competition blood testing then they can't be trusted. The 'giving blood weakens me' argument is awful, they are not taking pints at a time, and it is the only way to properly monitor blood boosting peds.

MANNY PACQUIAO'S superfight with Floyd Mayweather Jnr in Las Vegas is set to be KO'd today when the Filipino's camp announce another opponent.

The showdown has been in doubt since the American insisted Pacquiao agreed to random drug testing.

WBO champ Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum set a Monday deadline for the other camp to accept a final offer in which both sides let the Nevada State Athletic Commission make a ruling.

But Mayweather's advisor Leonard Ellerbe said last night there was no question of accepting that.

In a bid to get the bout on the NSAC have ordered both to submit to urine tests within 48 hours.

HATTON READY FOR FLOYD FIGHT

MATTHEW HATTON is first in line for a sensational crack at Floyd Mayweather Jnr — if the American's fight with Manny Pacquiao is officially called off.

Negotiations with Ricky Hatton's younger brother were at an advanced stage before the Pacquiao bout was announced and have now been re-opened.

Hatton's lawyer Gareth Williams confirmed: "There appears to be some doubt over Mayweather and Pacquiao fighting in March.

"I spoke to Richard Schaefer [CEO of Golden Boy Promotions] about the possibility of Mayweather fighting Matthew here in England next year.

"Those talks stopped when Pacquiao v Mayweather was announced but I am speaking to Schaefer again as Floyd is very keen to fight in England."

Mayweather's showdown with Pacquiao hit the buffers in a dispute over drug testing with the Filipino refusing Olympic standard blood tests in the weeks leading up to the proposed March 13 date.

Hatton junior has no problems giving blood and he said: "If the fight comes off, I'd be making some decent money so they can take whatever they want from me. I'd have no problem with any kind of testing."

Hatton senior lost his unbeaten record to Mayweather when he was knocked out in the 10th round in December 2007.

And Matthew added: "At first I thought it was a wind-up when my name was mentioned for Mayweather but yes, it's true.

"Some people will see it is a complete mismatch and of course I'd be the massive underdog but I have never been down in a fight.

"Sure there is a difference in class but one of my strengths is durability and I have always said I'd fight anybody — that includes Mayweather.

"Deep down, I still think the fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao will happen because there is simply too much money at stake for it not to.

"I missed out on big fights before, twice I was supposed to fight Zab Judah but they both fell through at the last minute.

"If Floyd's fight does fall through, then I'd see it as a bit of an honour to box him here in England."

Gotta say i'm slightly disappointed and pointing the finger at Pacquiao and somewhat lost abit of respect for him, I mean really, it's a bloody blood test, what has he got hide?

I know Mayweather could just drop the need of a blood test and it would be all go but at the same Pacquiao been backing out, and backing out, Perhaps Mayweather knew Pacquiao didn't like needles (That's Pacquiao excuse isn't it? :dunno:) and Mayweather knew this would be an easy way out of the fight, again on the other hand - How much money would this fight have made, Probably a world record? Surley for the sake of a blood test that would have been worth it so Pacquiao what have you got to hide?

What a shock, it was never going to happen, both have too much to lose and don't need the fight.

My thoughs exactly.

MP says that it takes him a few days to recover after a blood test so I can see why he wouldn't agree to this. If it would affect his performance in a fight this big with everything to lose (apart from money), then why would he take this risk?

If FM is not accusing MP of using peformance enhancing substances, then why not drop the random testing and make the fight. If he does however, beleive that Pacquiao is or has used drugs, then the court case should go ahead.

Same here. It's a massive disappointment this fight is off. I would of paid £100 to watch it on Box Office, probably more!
