davieG Posted 26 November 2009 Posted 26 November 2009 1974 Leicester City call off their £140,000 transfer of Liverpool's John Toshack because tests reveal he has a muscle injury on his left thigh. Toshack, who had agreed terms, had been named in the Leicester team to face Manchester City, but is now withdrawn. 'Tosh' would stay at Liverpool until 1978, during which time he would add two League Championship medals and a UEFA Cup medal to his collection whilst bringing his total of goals for the club to 96. http://www.givemefootball.com/premier-leag...ory-november-26

Hugo Sanchez Posted 27 November 2009 Posted 27 November 2009 Birch goes on about this in his book, said he travel with the team to a away game and shared a room with him. I think the club doc at the time told Bloomfield not to sign him.
