Fox You Forest Posted 15 February 2010 Posted 15 February 2010 Vanilla ice cream with honey, and a couple of standard lemon and sugar. Don't think I'll have time for any tomorrow though.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 15 February 2010 Posted 15 February 2010 Lemon juice and sugar! And Orange of course (fresh lemons, not them squirty jif things).I never even knew you could use them for savouries, doesn't sound too nice but I'm gonna give it a bash. Ice cream and Maple syrup is a nice one that I've had a few times. What do you think enchiladas and fajitas are? Of course, they're in tortillas, but the principles the same.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 15 February 2010 Posted 15 February 2010 Savory pancakes?! GTF outta here! Of course. The pancake is a neutral base, you can use it for anything and therein lies its genius!

Edmund Posted 15 February 2010 Posted 15 February 2010 Bacon cooked in the pancakes with a touch of syrup is also fucking lush.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 16 February 2010 Posted 16 February 2010 Bacon cooked in the pancakes with a touch of syrup is also fucking lush. In the United Kingdom and Ireland, Shrove Tuesday is often known colloquially as Pancake Day or Pancake Tuesday. The traditional pancake is slightly thicker than a French crêpe. It is served immediately after preparation. Long ago it was traditionally served with a meat-based stew (also a luxury then). In modern times a sprinkling of granulated sugar, or icing sugar (known as powdered or confectionary sugar in the United States) and lemon juice has become more common. Many other sweet and savoury toppings are used today (for example, in Canada pancakes are often served with maple syrup or preserves). On Pancake Tuesday, some ethnic Scots-Irish in the United States make pancakes with meat mixed into the batter. This results in pancakes with slices of sausage (or, often, even slices of hot dogs) fried into the cake. In some countries, charity and commercial businesses organize events on Pancake Tuesday to raise funds for charitable purposes.
Fosse Boy Posted 16 February 2010 Posted 16 February 2010 Two mozzarella and two white chocolate this year. Stuffed. Favourite toppings of all time have to be jam or golden syrup though.

Guest Bilo Posted 16 February 2010 Posted 16 February 2010 Pancakes with the remaining melted chocolate from making the pimped Curly Wurly earlier = An orgasm for my taste buds. Fucking lovely.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 16 February 2010 Posted 16 February 2010 Having a disappointing pancake day.The missus is away and i'm fucked if i know how to cook em. Flour (plain, but self-raising can have interesting results!) Eggs Milk I never have "quantities" or a recipe, you just mix them together to make a thick liquid about the consistancy of a thick milkshake and then bung it in a frying pan with a drizzle of oil to stop it sticking. (not the frying pan you used to fry onions in earlier though - I know I've been banging on about savoury pancakes, but...) What's so difficult?
Guest DavidJCW Posted 16 February 2010 Posted 16 February 2010 Had my own home made pancakes tonight! First time I've made them myself here and I had... 2 with Philadelphia cheese 1 with Pate (not particularly nice) 6 with Lemon and Sugar (THE BEST) Is 9 excessive? Maybe... but it was jolly nice!
