fox123 Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 Only a few days off now, what delights do you usually put on your pancakes? 3 different savoury fillings; Some concoction with Mince, Cheese and Onion and Tuna and Sweetcorn. Followed by traditional sweet ones with Lemon Juice and Sugar.
Webbo Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 Treacle or butter and sugar although I'm on a low carb diet so I may not bother this year.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 AKA Mardi Gras! And what do we do? Flip pancakes! Gotta love em though... savoury or sweet. I like mine with cheap wine... or maybe ice cream and chocolate... or chocolate spread and bananas (I lived on crepés with choc spread and bananas when I went Paris!)... or chilli con carne... or the classic - maple syrup! If anyone says lemon juice and sugar, well they just ain't experimented yet!
BoneDog Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 Lemon juice and sugar! And Orange of course (fresh lemons, not them squirty jif things). I never even knew you could use them for savouries, doesn't sound too nice but I'm gonna give it a bash. Ice cream and Maple syrup is a nice one that I've had a few times.
AoWW Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 Golden syrup and fresh lemon (or lime) juice. Butter and brown sugar. For savoury ones I just like them with grated cheese and a dash of ketchup. Yum...... making me hungry.
Libertine Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 You guys really need cinnamon with your classic lemon and sugar. Makes it even better. Anyway, chocolate is good too. Savoury ones are great and nomtacular.
brad1875 Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 i think they should serve pancakes on the bus down to bristol

BoneDog Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 How do people actually make their pancakes? Cos when I've done them in the past I've just used that stuff you buy in a packet thingymabob. They are always nice and tasty but just wondering if there is a better method
Guest Bilo Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 Treat Dark Chocolate Sauce. OR Lemon and sugar. Always a tough decision in Chez Bilo at this time of year.
Katy Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 Nutella! Bristol City had better provide me with some on Tuesday....
Hitesh Posted 13 February 2010 Posted 13 February 2010 Forgot about this! Has to be Nutella all the way!
Bugg Posted 13 February 2010 Posted 13 February 2010 Forgot about this! Has to be Nutella all the way! Seconded, can't beat a bit of nutella!
Guest DavidJCW Posted 13 February 2010 Posted 13 February 2010 I've never had any savoury ones on Pancake Day before... I think this year I might just give it a go... and then finish off with the usual lemon juice and sugar ones!
Edmund Posted 13 February 2010 Posted 13 February 2010 A dollop of Vanilla Ice Cream, Mapyle Syrup, Powdered Sugar, Slab of Butter, Hint of Cinnamon. Perfect pannekoeken
Alexikokopops Posted 15 February 2010 Posted 15 February 2010 Lemon juice and sugar. Nothing else. LOVE IT
