mmarkie Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 What does everyone think the team will be? Could it be the same as Tuesday? Personally I think Nige will bring Oakley and Gallagher back in, but I didn't go to the game at Donny, so if anyone who went could post, it would be greatly appreciated thanks.
SMX11 Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 Oakley will probably come in. GK- Weale DR- Morrison DC- Hobbs DC- Brown DL- Berner MC- Wellens MC- King MC- Oakley WL- Dyer ST- Waghorn WR- N'Guessan I think N'Guessan may be key, they are struggling at left back, if Danny has a good game we could get 2-3 goals.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 Weale Morrison Brown Hobbs Berner Oakley King Wellens Dyer - Left Gallagher - Right Waghorn Dyer and Gallagher just playing behind Waghorn.
davieG Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 GK- Weale DR- Morrison DC- Hobbs DC- Brown DL- Berner MC- Wellens MC- King MC- Oakley WL- Dyer ST- Waghorn WR- Gallagher i think that's his preferred option.

I would imagine that'll probably be it. Still having nightmares about Brown's performance at their gaff. Hope he feels like he's got something to prove.

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 Weale Morrison Brown Hobbs Berner Oakley King Wellens Dyer N'Guessan Waghorn
Shrenchel Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 Where abouts did you sit at the Shitty Ground mate? Z block, quite near the front.

marbelladave Posted 25 February 2010 Posted 25 February 2010 A lot will depend on the state of our players fitness wise. Four games in 11 day, including 3 tough away games may have left some players nursing knocks and some just plain tired. Forest have had a week off, so this will be tough. On this occasion I would go with as close to a 'regular' side as we can get, so; Usual back 5 and midfield 3 with Oakley returning for Solano. Up front, Waghorn to lead the line, Gallagher right and Dyer left. Not my first choice line up under normal circumstances but on this occasion I would go with what we know best.
dogadug Posted 25 February 2010 Posted 25 February 2010 Weale Morrison Hobbs Brown Berner Oakley King Wellens Dyer Gallagher Waghorn
Lisburn Fox Posted 27 February 2010 Posted 27 February 2010 My Tuppence worth!! Weale Morrisson Hobbs Brown Berner Oakley (Def Mid) King Wellens N'guesson Gallagher Waghorn Logan, HOWARD (Key Man Today), Nobby, Adams, Dyer, Nielson, McGivern, I think we should hit them early with N'Guesson and Gallagher supporting Waghorn if that is not working bring on the big man for Oakley/King and bombard them down the right and hit Stevie, if he gets a chance today he will score. Brown needs to be strong and make the right decisions if in doubt hit the corners and not try and pretend he is a player who can play from the back because to be honest he can't. Just a few little thoughts.
marbelladave Posted 27 February 2010 Posted 27 February 2010 Playing 4-3-3 there are 3 important things to remember:- Do not split the midfield! Do not split the midfield! Do not split the midfield! You play 3 in midfield for a reason, they have to play together! Defend together, attack together, box to box. Split them up (attacking mid, defensive mid etc) and the opposition can play past them one at a time.

If the three all attack together as you suggest then Forest will absolutely slaughter us on the break, we've seen what happens when Wayne Brown gets exposed against pace. These lads aren't machines, they can't go box-to-box for 90 minutes.

These lads aren't machines, they can't go box-to-box for 90 minutes. Then pace yourself! I did not suggest going forward flat out but moving back and forward as a unit, each player does his own thing, Oakley gets forward as does (should) King, who also does much of the defensive work, Wellens hustles and bustles. But they have to do it together! As individuals they are easily bypassed and even as a pair the opposition often gets the upper hand as was the case when we tried to play with 2 wide men. Against good teams they well naturally be able to get forward less often, but above all else they have to keep a degree of control in midfield and that means all 3 of them playing together!
Candidcamera Posted 27 February 2010 Posted 27 February 2010 I would leave it the same but no doubt the captain will be back so Oakley for Solano. This will strengthen the team but Solano should be brought on at some point because he has the flair. I would leave N'Guessan in and Gallagher as a sub. I think that is the more attacking option. It will be interesting to see the line up.
Flynny Posted 27 February 2010 Posted 27 February 2010 Got a feeling Gally will play on the right to put our most skillful player up against the aforementioned problem left-back position. Weale Morrison - Brown - Hobbs - Berner Wellens - Oakley - King Gally - Waghorn - Dyer/N'Guessan
