Juan Ugarte

I seriously do not know why people keep suggesting Sam Parkin to play upfront with the mighty Connolly. He is unproven at this level and I believe we should be pursuing someone like Juan Ugarte from Wrexham. Although he has not had Championship experience, he has represented Real Sociadad and has been immense for Wrexham, also a reccommendation from Xabi Alonso, must be good!!!!! :)

At 27 he is just about hitting his peak, and I'm sure Levein could get him for a cut price deal. What are your opinions on this Spanish revelation???

I have watched Wrexham a couple of times this season and Juan Ugarte is shit. He aint a bad finisher but no way would cut it at Championship level, he cant pass or dribble. So no thanks.

You do not know why people keep suggesting Parkin? I'll tell you why, he's been a consistent 20+ goals a season man in League 1 for the past 3 or 4 seasons, generally in a midtable side. Ugarte has been here for half a season and granted has scored goals but he's hardly proven. He is also another small striker, and alongside Connolly I believe this is a problem, particularly as Levein has stated before (and implemented at Hearts) that his preferred method of attack is to get the ball wide and get crosses in.

Look at people like Ellington, Nugent, Kitson etc all regular goalscorers at a lower level, and have easily transferred their form to the Championship. There is nothing to suggest Parkin wouldn't do the same, and personally I think he would be a better foil for Connolly.
