Why is ITV far ahead of the BBC?

BBC:

30 - 14 - 4 - 11

ITV:

32 - 22 - 5 - 15

Are ITV classing safe seats as done and dusted?

Loughborough's gone Tory now. Talk of North West Leicestershire going the same way.

Lembit Opik's lost his seat.

One less Leicester fan in Parliament. :(

As it stands, England wants Conservatives, Scotland Labour

An end to the UK Parliament?

Amazing how many constituencies so far have hit the 70% turnout

What crap. It is not acceptable to arrive at 9.15 and not be able to vote. That is pathetic on behalf of the organisers and people have every right to complain.

Some guy is quoted as turning up at 8:30 and still not able to vote.

I can't believe Gordon hasn't resigned and still wants to be PM.........oh shame on you, your fecking second FFS!

Poor old Nick Clegg, just shows media persona and a couple of good shows don't win you votes either.

I think we'll end up with either a Conservative minority government or a Con/Lib pact. A Lab/Lib coalition wouldn't produce a majority and I can't see Labour getting sufficient support to achieve a majority.

I'd be surprised if the Libs went with Labour as it could lose them votes in the longer term being seen to support a losing party. On the other hand it will be difficult for the Libs to get a commitment for electoral reform from the Tories.

Like Honcho I can't see any out come lasting too long unless the Libs can persuade the Tories to implement reform or even a referendum on it which would take some time to implement.

I'm pretty sure he'll resign should the tories hit the magical 300 mark.

If they don't then I doubt he will and totally agree with him as most of the country will have rejected a tory government and it's his responsibility to ensure their isn't one.

He'll have to broker a deal with the lib dems and then resign as labour leader imo.

As I've said in the past Clegg would be a dead man walking if he colluded with the tories as most LD MPs shudder at the thought of a tory government and have no interest in their politics whatsoever.

Whatever I'm glad I have the day off to watch it unfold this morning.......................who said politics was boring :D

Despite the increase in the voting I think it demonstrate public disillusionment with the current batch of politicians and the system. At this point in time the Libs have increased their votes by 1% compared to the Tory increase of 4% but have lost seats whilst the Tories have made big gains on the back of theirs (assuming I've understood the info).

9 million have voted tory, 3 mill more then Labour, so the nation hasn't rejected the Tories, infact it looks as though theu rejected Gordon and labour. IMO Gordon should have resigned before the General Election, Labour then would have won!! Tories have balls up big time, they couldn't win against such a sterile government and that's down to slimy Cameron!!

I'm hoping for some reform, i would like more clarity ofrom all parties because for me, this election was a shame, non of the parties actually gave any real indication on how there gonna govern and control the deficit!!

if one of the leaders had come out and said that homosexuality was abnormal and the burka was to be banned , they would have won a landslide

The facts are that at present Cameron can't form a majority government and his only hope of doing so is if a dozen LD MP's to defect to his party.

Which is quite likely if Brown decides he wants to cling on

Trouble is if he supports Labour I can also see the Lib vote collapsing at a soon to be held election. What Clegg needs to do for his parties sake and probably the country is get reform in place then it matters not who he colluded with he'd be forever loved by current and future LibDems.
