Fox92 Posted 16 April 2010 Posted 16 April 2010 Ok, it may be bad that Forest are sending a weaker side to Blackpool, they have the right to, they have done what they needed to do and can do what they want to now. It's not against any rules so there is nothing wrong with it. But we are four points clear, we are playing a side nearer the bottom and Blackpool are playing the side that are sat third in the league. Now I am sure that Billy Davies will not want to loose so it may still be hard for Blackpool (even if Forests' away form has been horrid of late) I was talking to a Nottingham Forest fan who is in my college class yesterday, and we didn't know what there "weaker" side consists of. What is there weaker side, players that usually make the bench? Lewis McGugan? Gorge Boyd? David McGoldrick? It's one hell of a weak side and I am totally confident that Nottingham Forest will take the game to Blackpool. After all, you don't play to loose. However, lets just look at our game, we are in the better position.
Sylvie85 Posted 16 April 2010 Posted 16 April 2010 Is completely there choice, they've done the hard work and qualified fore the play offs, they can field whatever team they choose. I thought it was ludicrous wolves got fined. We just need to concentrate on us. Its in our hands.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 16 April 2010 Posted 16 April 2010 They'll lose anyway. Would people care too much if we fielded a 'weakened' team against Middlesbrough, if our position is 100% certain by then?
lou Posted 16 April 2010 Posted 16 April 2010 Got told this by a Forest fan well over a week ago. Its off one of their forums... just a rumour. Either way its down to us to perform and not to rely on others results. <_<
dandannieldanok Posted 16 April 2010 Posted 16 April 2010 And exactly how are those players who are rested 'out of their rhythm?' This is the backward thinking of the 1970's. Why do all the big clubs increasingly rotate particualrly when they face fixture congestion and/or at the end of the season? The idea expressed by other posters that any losses suffered by Forest's second stringers (assuming that they are selected) in the run in would somehow knock the confidence of the regulars in the play offs is even more absurd. . Because the players are in good form at the moment, but if they're taken out of the team then it's not as easy to just step in 3 weeks later for the play-offs and carry on where they left off. None of the players in this league are the players of the top Premier League teams, those players can turn form on like a tap, championship players can't.

Forest have recently shown all the signs of burn-out - the collapse in their away form is clear evidence of this. Three months ago I would have dreaded the prospect of facing them in the play-offs, not so now. I'd sooner face a tired Trees side filled with the walking wounded at Wembley than a rested one sporting sun tans. It's easy to forget that at the turn of the year it was they and not Newcastle who were the form team in this division.
lou Posted 17 April 2010 Posted 17 April 2010 Doesnt matter who Forest play.... if DJ Campbell is playing theyre gonna get spanked anyway
Guest Posted 17 April 2010 Posted 17 April 2010 Who cares - I want a welsh team followed by Forest to make sure we end up in the Prem next season.

RedHux Posted 17 April 2010 Posted 17 April 2010 5 changes. Including Lynch back from a long injury, earnie and dex out, Dele and McGoldrick up front.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 With such a weakened team I'm surprised that DJ didn't score 7 or 8 goals yesterday!
