hernandez Posted 21 May 2010 Posted 21 May 2010 i thought spearing was verry good in the first leg and was shattured that he didnt start in the away leg. i think we should loan him again next season to see what else he has. really like the lad.
marbelladave Posted 21 May 2010 Posted 21 May 2010 I think maybe over the summer they may work on Gallagher and teach him how to be a midfielder. No doubt he can provide something creative, he definitely is a decent football player. He isn't a winger, though. I think maybe he would be suited to a Dennis Bergkamp type of position (I'm not comparing him to Bergkamp, just the position!). Gallagher I think is probably the only player to score from a free kick this season, right? I recall Oakley hitting the post from a free but I can not remember anyone else getting close. The "Bergkamp Role" as you put it requires a lone striker to play behind and our best is Fryatt, not at all that sort pf player. Playing Gallagher behind a front 2 leaves us horribly narrow, as we found out earlier this season. Getting the best out of Gallagher could be pivotal but...
MPH Posted 21 May 2010 Posted 21 May 2010 I think any young player wanting to develop can see what is happening at leicester and would be probably forming a line to sign for us on loan. The top clubs can see it too they may well want their youngsters to come here. Although i wouldnt be suprised to hear of some clubs putting a clause in their loan to stop us bidding for the player - ala Hobbs style.

Webbo Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 The Mirror Leicester have opened talks with Liverpool about keeping Jay Spearing permanently.Versatile midfielder Spearing, 21, impressed for Championship City after arriving on loan in March from Anfield. And Foxes boss Nigel Pearson wants to keep the starlet next season either on loan or permanently after his team lost in the play-off semi-finals. Liverpool have already agreed to let Spearing return on loan but may even be tempted to sell him.
