Is Pearson to blame for his exit ?

Everyone is slagging Nigel Pearson off and hoping he gets fired and relegated at Hull however i do feel quite sympathetic towards him. I personally feel that he would never have left us if he was given the transfer budget he was promised. In the Leicester Mercury it says that ....

''Pearson feared he would come under pressure eventually to either cut his backroom team or his support staff, including his cherished sports science department. He lost reserve team boss Gerry Taggart when his request to join a reserve league next season after two years of merely playing friendlies was denied, which added to his discontent''.

''He became even more frustrated over delays in being told his budget for next season''.

''He was also working under the proviso that he would have no money to spend unless he sold players, but was reluctant to part with any squad members without assurances he would be able to replace them.''

''Relationships were further strained when several potential transfer deals fell through and Pearson was upset when striker DJ Campbell was allowed to join promotion rivals Blackpool in January, when he thought he was going to Derby County.''

''The Mercury understands it was not his financial package that was the major problem, but Pearson wanted assurances over his budget and the future of his backroom staff.''

''Negotiations for a new contract also broke down and Pearson rejected one offer which he considered unacceptable.''

...... Although im sad that Pearson has left us for a club that seem to be in a similar position, if not worse than us, i can fully understand why he wanted to leave. It seems that the communication / relationship with Milan wasnt great as Milan was always stepping in / making decisions for Pearson. Pearson didnt have hardly any of the transfer budget he was promised, which will again anger him as he obviosuly cant take his 'plan' / 'development' any further. He has decided to walk out a hero rather than see his team fail as he obviously feels he cant take us any further with what money milan has to offer, in which i fully respect.

Milan seems like a hard chairman to get on with and i feel he is responsable for Pearsons departure, he seemed in no hurry to 1. offer him a new deal and 2. try and keep him when hull were linked. He has not offered Pearson what he promised in which i feel will cost us.

Good look Pearson, thanks for a great 2 years.

Well when put like that, I'm not surprised he left...

Thing is though, does he really think that he'll get to have his sports science department, keep all his backroom staff and players at Hull? They're in financial difficulties too and it'll take a lot to sort them out. Surely he could have tried to keep it going here for a while longer and if Mandaric told him to get rid of staff or players, tell him to sod off or he would.

Sounds like Mandaric is the problem though which isn't surprising... we need investment and possibly even a complete takeover with someone who doesn't interfere at the helm.

And round and round we go. You lot really love showing the world your arrogant ignorance don't you.

We're in less financial difficulty than most other clubs hence he's brought his back room staff and Nigel could use one of the highest rated and longest serving sports science departments in the Country. Fancy that at little Hull eh?

I have wondered this myself, but a few things make it hard to swallow:

I've worked under crap bosses before, I've generally stuck it out because of work mates or enjoyment for the job, when it has become impossible to work in a company any longer I quit. If working under Mandaric was impossible why wait until Hull approached and not just quit, say at the end of season, give us time to get someone in for pre season. If he wanted to leave with integrity and as a hero he should have quit, not left us for another club. I don't think Hull would have been sniffing around if they hadn't already been made aware that Nigel wanted to go.

He is no better than McGhee or Megson, using this club as a stepping stone to go to "bigger" clubs, where are they now? He had a chance to make a real difference here, of course it wasn't going to be easy, and money is a problem, but he owes us something for giving him the chance, 2 years ago he was a nobody, he owed us one more season, you don't go from 5 seasons of mismanagement and dross, including relegation to being world beaters overnight. He knew we had no money when he joined and shouldn't expect that to change because of one good season in the championship. Things were starting to come together and now it's back to square one. I Thank Nigel for the last 2 years but I don't wish him any luck in his future employment.

To Hull you have a good manager there, but if you were looking for someone with integrity, then you failed.

I doubt we'll ever find out what happened behind the scenes, Mandaric & Hoos won't give anything away... From what I've HEARD, Pearson isn't too blame, sounds like most people, have a bust up with the boss then jump ship at the next one that comes along.

And round and round we go. You lot really love showing the world your arrogant ignorance don't you.

Closer to where he lives and a bigger pay packet would be my guess. He also probably thought the chances of improving on last season were small as Pearson proved during last season tactically he is a one trick pony, and all the teams would have figured Pearson's Leicester out after last season.

Given Hull's financial problems he will have to go some to pull up any trees with them.

I see Pearson as a cold, calculated, pragmatic serious type of bloke who's loyalty is to himself. I dont blame him for that, most people look after themselves first when it comes to career.

You bite everytime though, it's quite childish of you lot really.

I put it down to an inferiority complex, which is perfectly understandable.

If you had a bust up with your boss about a pay rise, and then another employer offered you a hell of a lot more, you'd go. He was proud of what he'd done here but it was just a job at the end of the day, he never even lived here.

I'll only loose respect for him if he tries to steal our best players, but I can't see that happening as 1. Hull are skint and 2. our best players are thankfully tied down to long term contracts. at the end of the day, he got better wages for himself and his staff, which is all he wanted here, and what he deserved for the last 2 years.

MM did not seem to want to pay him any more, probably why he tried to tie him down in Jan, incase we did get promotion then he would have had to give him more. As soon as the playoffs were over Pearson had the upper hand and the ball was in MM's court. Which is why I can't see us ending up with anyone with alot of experience at a high level, he'll take a gamble on someone that has low wage demands and see if it pays off, Again!

You can sympathise with his reasoning for leaving us (depending on what speculation you believe) but also not want him to do well there y'know.

Pearsons football reflected the person, boring, conservative, Very sour.

I'm glad he's gone. Now I might even buy myself a top notch season ticket!...

Couldnt of put it better myself! :appl:

Pearson must've had genuine concerns, he doesn't strike me as a bloke who would walk for any small reason. We'll probably never know why, but he's gone and we need to look ahead.

we do need to look ahead. awful shame he's gone but i cant see him doing as well at hull as he did with us. id like to see him do very average there if im honest. sad and bitter of me i know.
