davieG Posted 30 June 2010 Posted 30 June 2010 Like I believe that! Leicester City chief executive Lee Hoos has said former manager Nigel Pearson's departure came as a shock to the club. Pearson signed a three-year deal to manage Hull City on Thursday and is being followed by assistants Craig Shakespeare and Steve Walsh. Hoos told BBC Radio Leicester: "We were very surprised with the initial inquiry from Hull. "He obviously liked what they had to offer and felt it was an appropriate time to go." Hoos said he did not know Pearson's reasons for leaving the Foxes. "Nigel is a very private man even with people who are close to him. "He keeps his own counsel and his reasoning is only ever going to be known to him." Hoos added that the Foxes would find a replacement manager as soon as possible but added it would not make a hasty appointment. "The phone's been ringing pretty much non-stop. I think Leicester would probably be an attractive club to most people. It's a good club with a good fan base and good core squad," he said.
davieG Posted 30 June 2010 Author Posted 30 June 2010 So he just polled in one day and said "Just thought I'd let you know but I'm off"and you said ok Nige see ya!
Zingari Posted 30 June 2010 Posted 30 June 2010 came as a shock to the club. that doesn't mean it came as a shock to any individuals
Babylon Posted 30 June 2010 Posted 30 June 2010 So he just polled in one day and said "Just thought I'd let you know but I'm off"and you said ok Nige see ya! He may well of had clauses in his contract that allowed him to do so. But, as you say highly unlikely they don't know why. Personally I would rather they didn't say why, if it got into the open it could put off prospective managers.

Agreed...Pearson's gone for whatever reason and I doubt Pearson being the type of guy he is, will ever say!! If it was due to Hoos etc, then this is a wake up call!
SeCrEt FoX Posted 30 June 2010 Posted 30 June 2010 But surely not explaining why would be worse, MM has a bit of a background for falling out with his staff.

Why even come out with this sort of non-statement it serves no purpose in fact it exacerbates the situation and makes them look more foolish and bigger liars than they already appear.
Jon the Hat Posted 30 June 2010 Posted 30 June 2010 Leicester Chief Executive Lee Hoos said "We couldn't believe Pearson would want to leave Leicester for a dive like Hull, I mean seriously, Leicester is about as far North as I can go withouth getting a nosebleed." "Everything is rosy, there is nothing to see here" he added. "Move along please."
poopbutt Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 bare faced lies. always good to have the senior ranked people at a football club sowing seeds of distrust throughout.
