Would have been beeter off filling the rest of the bench with yougsters than leaving it like that I would have thought.

Perhaps he wants to start giving more player a full 90 minute run out so having excessive numbers on the bench would serve no purpose.

I definitely see the thinking behind that. Seems like he wants to give half the team a full 90 if he can rather than changing most of the team during the game, makes sense to me.
