made to sit down

ok so if once again they are insisting that people sit down ....when are they going to make the away fans sit down ! ...its the same every season they can pick on isolated city fans for standing ..but dare not make the away support sit down !

You'll find double standards at pretty much every ground in the country with regards to standing. One rule for some, another for others.

I know people who've stewarded at Colchester and their instructions for last season were to make any away fans sit, but to leave Millwall and Leeds to do what they like when they came to town.

so in other words were scared of leeds and millwall and it will cause too much hassle so leave them alone and pick on the easy targets.......apthetic aint it

I remember at Huddersfield away a few years back it was completely the opposite. The stewards were trying to get City fans to sit down, whereas they were allowing their fans to get on with it.

The more I think about this the more I feel the club are acting unfairly by allowing some sections of supporters to stand up and not others. I will go away and do some research but I feel there may be a case of indirect discrimination which is unlawfaul as opposed to 'standing at matches' which is purely an interpretation of guidelines.

Had my first (and probably last) venture into SK4 yesterday after becoming fed up of the prices in K. Not knowing what to expect I was really surprised by the lack of people standing (or singing) even before most of SK3 to the right of us was asked to sit down.

The steward who was on the stairway between SK3 and SK4 didn't seem to mind until about half hour in when an order was obviously sent down to try and get every sitting. I have never once been asked to sit down in K or J3 and it's these double standards that really piss me off. It's no wonder that a mass migration back to the Kop will never happen if people are not allowed even a certain degree of freedom in what is a far less volatile area of the ground.

They wouldn't care, all it will lead to is stewards getting everyone to sit, why would you want to make things worse?. We're lucky in some respects that away fans are left alone as some as our fans are.

No point ruining it.

I sit in sk4 with my two lads,,i was astounded yesterday when my youngest child stood up to ask me to pass his haribo, (there are three seats between us) ,,,,and he was promptly asked to sit down by a steward!! He was clearly standing for a limited amount of time and hes not even five foot tall!!!

We sit with the disabled seating area behind us,,,but if he were 10 foot tall, he wouldn't have restricted any ones view.

A case of a little too much power methinks! Common sense?

they will never get L block to sit down and I would use the away fans as the comparitor of fairness so it would not effect home fans already standing. Would only use the argument if I was pretty sure of winning it.

L1 is STH only, and people who go in there want to stand. This attracts other standers in K and J.

The Kop is not exclusively STHs, and a fair few in there want to sit. They also want to watch the game from a higher position, and so get annoyed by people standing in front of them. It has been brought up at the FCC in the past, and it's been mentioned people have written or phoned to complain about persistent standing in the Kop.

This is probably why L1 et al are left to it, and the rules are more stringently enforced elsewhere.

For the record, my ticket is L1, but I appreciate that not everybody is willing or even able to watch a match for 90 minutes standing. A bit of respect for each others views is needed, IMO.

another good example of pettiness i saw a steward ask a person to sit down who was actually on the back row.....hahahahahahah.....jobs worth or what !

It's not actually the stewards, it's the guy in their ear, most stewards are sound and are actually Leicester fans

you get the odd one...

i remember in L1 when they used to get everyone to sit ages ago everyone hated the stewards and it was an us v them attitude, then when we were allowed to stand everyone got on with each other and they were all sound

There was an open meeting to "clear the air", StandUpSitDown even sent a rep to the meeting. It ended with the club and the stewards (yes, agreed most are okay) agreeing to be less anal, and a certain H & S person with a face like thunder!

You had to be there.

I would have done anything to have seen that.

I remember at the Florist away game last season... The stewards came along the stand asking us to sit down... Then a chant of "Stand up if you love Leicester" was started... They were not amused
