Ozwin Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 Look at it this way, there's 1 day left of the window. I highly doubt we're going to sell 3 players in that time, transfers (as we've seen with DJ) take ages to eventually go through. I don't think Saturday (the now infamous transfer request day) to Tuesday is enough time to formulate any potential move.
MC Prussian Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Sousa confirms it now (well, sort of): Some players want to leave Leicester City – Paulo Sousa Monday, August 30, 2010, 09:30 Comment on this story DJ Campbell should complete his move to Blackpool today, and Leicester City manager Paulo Sousa has revealed the striker is not the only player who wants to leave the Walkers Stadium. Sousa said after Saturday's 2-1 home defeat to Reading, which condemned City to their worst start to a league season for 16 years, that some of his first-team squad have asked to leave. The City boss refused to reveal the identity of the unsettled players, although one is Campbell, who was not named in the squad to face the Royals. Sousa said he wanted only players who were fully committed to him and City. "Yes, we have some of them (who have asked to go) but not too many," said Sousa. "It means we have some good players and other clubs are interested in them. Depending on offers and the minds of the players, we will make decisions but we will keep it in-house. "Players get unsettled when their agents start to tell them about other possibilities. "Also, when there is a new manager, and they have been first choice for another manager with a different kind of football, everyone starts in a little bit of doubt. "From the start, I said every player is important but not indispensable. "The market is always open and then we need to make our decisions." Sousa said Blackpool had returned with a new bid for Campbell and that he had made his decision about the future of the unsettled striker. "Blackpool have made an approach and we will see," he said. "I have made my decision. The club knows my decision but I am not going to reveal that decision publicly. "From the beginning, I have said DJ is an important player and he is full of energy. "He started the season in good form, scoring goals and very happy." Sousa said Japanese international Yuki Abe should receive international clearance to join City tomorrow. He would then link up with his new team-mates after the internationals. Sousa said he was also close to completing at least two other deals for new signings. "I am close with some deals," he said. "We keep working very hard and hopefully by today we will settle on some extra players. "We have two or three positions we are looking for in different sectors, with different characteristics. Hopefully we can achieve them." Dutch defender Randel Shakison has been released after failing to impress during his recent trial. http://www.thebluear...il/article.html
Petchy Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 From the articles I've read today, King seems to still be 100% behind the cause and is 'willing to fight for his place' so he definitely didn't put in a request.
sdb Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Hopefully Waggy's arrival (and DJ's departure) cheers everyone up and this is all forgotten about...! Wishful thinking perhaps.
1964FOX Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Now that DJ has gone they should withdraw their requests as it was obviously him upsetting the team.
