Yojoe36 Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 Why on earth would Howard want to leave? Howard loves us, when he scores he always celebrates in front of the fans, unlike some, and he's good to have I think
smudger63 Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 Just a thought, on which ever of the players have put in a transfer request. If it`s purely because they don`t like sousa`s man management, or style of play, well what happens if we sack sousa, and then the players dont like whoever the next new manager is. Do we then sack him as well, to keep the players happy? Maybe the players feel they are entitled to have a vote on who the manager should be! The players should just get they`re head down, stop moaning and get on with playing football.
Mack Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 For a player it is a career decision as to where they play their football and for whom. Recent bigger name dealing have shown player power is getting stronger by the day. I know that if I was working in a firm where I could not get on with the boss then I would probably look elsewhere. As fans that is hard to understand but this is a career and a business at the end of the day. IF Sousa has pissed off some of our better players he will be that one who's career takes a knock in the end.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 If players don't want to play for the club then fine, let them leave. We'll get new players; no player is bigger than the club. We're in transition at the moment, it's a shame that practically all our preparation for this season was done with last season's players/manager and owner. No use in complaining about it. It's not going to change anything. It's not going to make you feel better. It's not going to support the club or the players who remain. So stop being so negative. For the record I think we can do better than Fryatt if he wants to go, DJ can sod off anyway cos he needs constant eulogy in order to perform and the only players I be really upset to lose are King, Hobbs and Berner (and I'm beginning to wonder if Berner might not have run out of steam now.)
Cant_Fox_You Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 Whoever wants to go, let them, I appreciate their efforts if they're our top players. I realise we have hardly anytime for finding replacements but we'll have to blend youth into our side or get loans to get us to January. We need to have harmony around the club. Just my opinion
andy_croydz Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 I don't see why Howard would want to leave, he seems to be starting games at the moment and that is exactly what he wants. Sousa seems to like him and Howard seems to like playing for Leicester. He is at the age now where Championship football is the best he is going to get, he wouldn't start a game for any Premier League team IMO.
Bert Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 It's not Howard. Why would he be having contract negotiations?
themotivator Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 Just had a listen. Totally disagree. Sounds like he understood it perfectly in my opinion. sounds like he "thought" he understood it

Nationwider Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 It's not Howard. Why would he be having contract negotiations? If you've got some inside knowledge, then fair enough, Bert. Having said that, I can well understand why Howard might be close to leaving. He's 34, out of contract at the end of the season and is probably in demand at Championship level. What he'll want is a) another two or three years on his contract until 2013 or 2014 and b) more money. I don't think Howard loves Leicester any more than he loved Hartlepool, Derby or Luton. He's definitely not having contract negotiations because he loves the city and the fans and the Birch. He'll want the security of a long-term deal, and if the deal's not right at Leicester and there's someone waiting in the wings with, say, 500k cash, it would make commercial sense, if not football sense, for City to sell him on Tuesday. As for the rest of the names mentioned, God knows? Hobbs and Morrison may feel pressured by the arrivals of Lamey, Moreno and Vitor I suppose. They may not fancy Sousa's methods either. I would be surprised if King had asked for a transfer so soon after signing a new deal. I wouldn't read anything into his demotion to the bench - if he was 100% set to leave, he wouldn't have even featured like Campbell. Sousa is just pissing around with his formation and will hopefully conclude that he needs King in the team sooner or later. Given his breakthrough onto the international scene, it would probably take a big cash offer beyond most Championship sides. Fryatt might be a target, might want to leave and now might be the time to get rid. He's never had a decent full season in the Champo and might feel it's the right time to move on. I'm surprised by Gally being linked with a transfer request. I would have thought Sousa would have suited him, and he really needs to get his head down and settle at a club like Leicester for a bit. Wellens? Who knows - I'm not sure he could do much better than Leicester at his age and pace. Hull could be a realistic sideways move I suppose. Dyer is out of contract at the end of the season, so his agent could be playing the club? Given his performance last night, I'd say he's pretty central to Sousa's plans so he'd be wasting his time right now. My guess for three names would be Howard, Morrison and Fryatt.
HonradaRaposa Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 Hopefully it is 3 from Fryatt, Campbell, Howard, Oakley, Neilson, Logan, N'Guessan or Dyer.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 Still think he misunderstood the question This. He says 'a few but not too many', when talking about the requests. He said it like it was a good thing, I think he is geting his wires crossed. Hope I'm right in saying that anyway!
Jimothy Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 This. He says 'a few but not too many', when talking about the requests. He said it like it was a good thing, I think he is geting his wires crossed. Hope I'm right in saying that anyway! Exactly. You wouldn't say a few but not too many when talking about requests. One is too many in terms of requests.
fatboytim Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 Still think he misunderstood the question No I disagree....he goes on to say that if other clubs are interested in our players that's a good thing as it means we have good quality players. To me, that says he understood the question and some 1st team players are wanting out.
J.Lisemore Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 I reiterate the views that if they don't want to play for us, let them go.
Salieri Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 This is an absolute fcking disaster. Yup. Since Pearson was forced out of the club things have gone from bad to worse in every which way possible. Everything was honky fucking dory until the new owners came along with there clueless take on what constitutes a successful football club i.e sack a perfectly good manager in favour of a 'high profile' one, who, despite being a great player has achieved fuck all as a manager. Totally gutted and disillusioned at the moment.

Saying having teams interested in our players is a good thing because it means our players are good, how does that mean players want out? The things aren't linked in anyway at all.
STUHILL Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 I reiterate the views that if they don't want to play for us, let them go. Not always as simple as that. Might not want to play for the manager. I don't see it as they suddenly don't like playing for Leicester, more so their dislike for the Manager and style or training methods maybe

Totally gutted and disillusioned at the moment. a) we don't have a clue what happened with Pearson. Could've been of his own making. b) How do you know everything was 'hunky dory' behind the scenes? c) I don't think Sousa is particularly high profile - not like a string of Premiership clubs were after him.

Could've been of his own making. b) How do you know everything was 'hunky dory' behind the scenes? c) I don't think Sousa is particularly high profile - not like a string of Premiership clubs were after him. a) Hull made an approach for Pearson. Rather than telling them to do one we happily accepted their approach and without any ceremony allowed NP to leave. Why? If i was being ultra cynical i would suggest that Adam Pearson was 'made aware' that should he approach NP then his club would be allowed to talk to Nigel. NP seemed as surprised as anyone that he was allowed to talk to Hull. I can't blame him for leaving when the club did nothing to persuade him to stay in the first place. b)I can only judge that on assessment of Pearsons time here. Promotion from League One followed by an excellent first season back in the Championship. How much unrest was there whilst he was in charge? Very little. Good squad harmony and in the main good work in the transfer market. c) I don't think he's particularly high profile either, but for whatever reasons Pearson wasn't fancied by the new owners and it's now backfiring on them bigtime.

I don't see it as they suddenly don't like playing for Leicester, more so their dislike for the Manager and style or training methods maybe Yeh good point that. It will really piss me off if 3 or more players leave and were left with either unknown foreign replacements or just no replacements whatsoever.
