Who do you think has put in a transfer request.?

Most teams are building on last season, considering we finished 5th its alarming that a number of players seem to what to leave the club we should be adding proven quality to the team as opposed to unknown quantities.

Its like the Martin Allen scenario all over again linked with players we have never heard of waste money of crap signings and agent fees, team don't gel board loses faith ...new manager in, team lack confidence Leicester back to mid table obscurity at best.

I am not against a few unknown players but if we have £10 million and players sales to add to that surely we should be looking at some players who are quality at this level at least.

I hope i am proved wrong by the end of the transfer window

According to today's Leicester Mercury Paulo Sousa has stated that a number of players want to leave Leicester City but has refused to indicate who those players are. He adds that he only wants players who are committed to him and Leicester City which I can't fault him for. I feel come tomorrow evening we could see a transfer merry go round at the Walkers.

Why do you think they are unhappy??? :S

His piss poor man management style has led to some of our previously happy players now wanting to leave.

Well the Swansea fans did warn us but we all laughed them off. They said he fell out with a number of their players last season.

I can't see it being Wellens. I think he will be happier playing under PS. I know he wasn't happy that he was the holding midfielder under NP. This season it seems as if PS lets him get forward much more, especially if he plans to play Oakley and Wellens in the middle.

That's just a transcript of the Stringer interview.

The bits in bold clearly show he think it means transfer bid, not request. Obviously the Merc put the bit in brackets on that sentence, he never said that.

Or is that what you want to believe?

Yes, we have some of them (who have asked to go) but not too many," said Sousa.

Three players is a lot, especially after only four games into the new season.

Of course I would prefer it to mean that, but what he says doesn't fit in with request it fit with bids. He say there have been a few but not too many, well one would be too many in terms of requests. He also says this means teams are interested in our players, and that means we have good players because others want them. Well why would players being unhappy and handing in requests mean teams were interested in them? If a player wants to leave because he's unhappy he's he won't care if other teams have shown interest, he just wants to state his desire to leave and be made available for transfer.

Exactly what I thought.

I just hope it isn't Wellens.

i agree, if it is so hush hush that these players have handed in transfer requests. why is Sousa happy to blert it out to stringer? i think there would be more info from press if it were true. doesn't really make much sense.

when the merc wrote about it they are probably just going on what people are writing in here after that laura girl came on to talk about fosse boys.

But at the end of the interview Stringer asks directly "will you reveal any of the players who have put in transfer requests and he refuses to comment. As much as I want to believe that our players want to play for us it seems unlikely that a football manager would fail to comprehend the considerable difference between a transfer request and an approach by another club. So either the players want to leave or our manager is an unbelievable moron (or both i suppose).

On a related note, is it just me or has Sousa's English actually got worse since last season? Or is he just playing that card to avoid dealing properly with the difficult questions flying around at the moment?

I know Sousa is responsible for the team but I can't help but put ALL the blame on Manderic and Hoos. There is no way Pearson would have left if they had of rejected Hulls approach. Even Hull's chairman said they were surprised Leicester gave them permission to talk to him. Manderic obviously had a vision of new investment and a big name international manager in Sousa playing attractive football. He has made a massive error and risked our promising future by this one stupid decision. The fans know it and now even the players are starting to show it too with transfer requests, almost like jumping a sinking ship.

In some ways, Manderic has been a great chairman, investing and taking a real active interest in the club but in other ways, he has been a pure disaster! Allowing Pearson to leave so easily will haunt him hopefully!!

Hopefully????????? :dunno: so what your'e saying is you really want it all to fall apart so that MM will be haunted by his decision.... TIT!!

or by transfer request he though stringer meant "has anyone requested a transfer for your players?" I.e. have any other clubs made a bid for a city player.

Tomorrow is MASSIVE. If I was PS the priorities would be...

Keep King and Hobbs at all costs

Finalise Waggy (please God)

Sign a CB

Get DJ out

Only accept offers for other players if they match/beat their value (i.e don't let Fryatt/Wellens go for peanuts)

Forget zonal marking

Don't know if anybody has already posted this, but in the interview are we sure what Paulo said wasn't misinterpreted after stringers question about first team players requesting transfers he replied Yes, we have some of them but not too many. How do we know that he understood the question fully. And if so how do we know it wasn't just DJ and Verma? No need to be so Pessimistic, Waghorn's on his way! In Paolo We Trust!
