Fox You Forest Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 £750 for the final day of athletics! I'd want one of the feckers giving me a piggy back round the track for that.

dandannieldanok Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 They've priced up the marathon? Surely that isn't prices for just standing on the street watching is it?
Alexikokopops Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 They've priced up the marathon? Surely that isn't prices for just standing on the street watching is it? Nah, it says in the BBC article that's free. I guess it's for the end bit. Usually the marathon finishes in the stadium with a final lap. However, I heard at London its finishing elsewhere so they can run through the pretty bits rather than east, so maybe they'll set up some stands there or something.

Ah right I see, thought it would have been pretty tight-fisted to charge people to stand and watch randomly along the course .
Super_horns Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 Ah right I see, thought it would have been pretty tight-fisted to charge people to stand and watch randomly along the course . Well they need to recoup a lot of money but I don't think the organisers are that mean! The usual expensive prices for the top events as you migh expect but some decent prices elsewhere. Not sure how well some of the "minoirty sports" will sell TBH...could be a few discount/freebies given out?
Lillehamring Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 christ, i was thinking of going to the women's handball, but that's ridiculous... i think they're going to have a lot of empty seats and bizarrely they have a handball arena for the first rounds but then it moves to the basketball arena, and the basket ball starts in the basketball arena and finishes in the north greenwich arena. sounds like good money management that.
StanSP Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 Football final at Wembley, tickets from £30. Seats will be in the highest tier right at the back probably, but will still might be a good laugh. Looking forward to see what athletes are gonna use our local athletes track for training purposes too
Fosse Boy Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 Would've been up for a bit of track cycling but not at half a ton a pop for the worst seat in the velodrome.
lildave3 Posted 16 October 2010 Posted 16 October 2010 Pricey. Boxing/Basketball finals £95 each at the cheapest. But the football final is only £40? And at the Opening ceremony prices.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 21 October 2010 Posted 21 October 2010 I would have loved to go watch the 100m final but thats a joke. I know they have to offset their costs as much as possible but how the hell do they expect anyone to affolrd that? Could have a week in the bloody caribbean for that.
