Will Pearson come in for Fryatt or Hobbs?

Generally you build a team to gain promotion and then another when you get up.

Unless, of course, someone is willing to give you 3 or 4 years.

Sven clearly doesn't have that amount of time and wouldn't, surely, want to take that long.

This isn't his team, given enough money I'm sure he'd happily replace most in January and then do the same again in the summer should we get promoted.

And how many of the current squad, should they be good enough to get us up, do you honestly see having a future in premier?

Sorry edited to say that we have do improve because we are a number of points away from where we were last season.

We do have to improve but not hugely. Like I say, we're only 5 points off at the moment. I think we will go on a winning run soon.

I don't want it to take us 3 or 4 years to go up either, but considering Sven has taken over partway through the season when we were bottom, no one should expect promotion. I expect us to be a lot better than we were under Sousa.

You're right, because of the owners Sven might have to get promotion this year. But frankly, that's not right.

I'm not sure how many of our players have a future in the Prem tbh, but like I said, we need players to get us there first. Then we will have the money to buy players in any case. Buying a bunch of Premiership players all at once would not be good in the short term. This season we are better off not starting a team from scratch. We have players good enough to challenge for promotion.

Well we certainly won't get promoted with the current strike force.

They have never scored enough so someone has to come in.

With the exception of King we don't get many from midfield.

The on loan defence may do better, but I don't see Berner scoring many this season, Morrison popped up with a few but won't play again.

We desperately need 2 players to score regularly, at best we may have one but ......

Last year Hobbs was lcfc fans player of the year nobody complained about his lack of pace then , I think he will come good again he is still young and still learning , where as fryatt has been in and out of the side since he signed for us I think he will be off in January and goodluck to him.

I complained and have always believed he'd be vulnerable to pace, along with the rest of our old back four. For years we've had to protect good but essentially cumbersome defenders - with people like King and Oakley - but it's been to the cost of our attacking potential and this season, with King moving forward and Oakley injured the problem has been exposed.

You need fast, strong, footballing defenders who read the game well, pass the ball comfortably including a couple who have a bit the height and leap to win the aerial battles. Guys like Vitor and Tunchev if they can ever stay free from injury.

What about people like Carragher? Not much pace but is able to make up for that with positioning and strength. Hobbs will gain experience and will use whatever pace he has to his advantage. Agree?

For me Fryatt is crap, or his attitude is.

Morrison is just poor.

As is Weale

Hobbs could come good again but isn't a world beater.

Wellens, I wouldn't be that bothered if he left.

Actually, I wouldn't be upset about any of our permanent players going, and some I'd be glad to see the back of.

And that is head and heart

fook me the short memories fans are showing is an utter joke,

not going to discuss fryatt (thats been done enough already) but morrison was a good quality player for us last season, weale was one of the best keepers in the championship last season, hobbs was a key player for us as well, wellens has been quite good for us (but he doesn't seem to want to shoot).

the wholesale changes you seem to want will do us more harm than good.

Reading some of these threads is just like being at school when the teachers criticised people without taking into consideration their positive attributes.

We do not have many crap players at the Club at the moment: Hobbs and Fryatt are no way near the standard where we should slate them wholesale.

It is true that Pearson got the best out of Fryatt, Hobbs and Morrison, but players have good phases and less than good phases. Lets not make short term decisions.

Hobbs is not going through a good phase, but we have all seen his ability.

And Hobbs on his game is a servant to any club at City's stage of development.

He is young and has bags of potential. If he were the finished player, he would not be playing for City because the red job dodgers would not have sold him to us.

We are not going to be buying the John Terrys are we??? But Hobbs has the potential to be a Premiership player in several seasons, hopefully with City.

Hobbs has been an excellent player for Us since his arrival and We would be foolish to let him go, right now, for less than several million (no less than 2 or 3 million and it is debateable whether Hull will pay that, even with new backers).

Fryatt... I would rather have him at the Club than 2 million in the bank. Right now, if we sell him, what do we do if we get an injury? Howard has not got a whole seasoon in him, Vassell is not proven, and Waghorn is not the finished article.

There will be fans going on about Ishmael Miller's arrival - pie in the sky until he pulls on a blue shirt. And then, he may only be a loan.

What is more, he may turn out to have a bad spell - do we sell him then as well?

We need to develop players like Fryatt, not sell them on when they are not getting in the team. These are the players that come back to bite Us.

It is true, Fryatt is playing crap right now, but he has had his jaw wired less than six months ago, has had 3 managers in that time, and is one of the longer servants of the Club.

He is not crap, just not playing well right now: some fans need to remember all of those silly dances that happened as a result of his goals.

As to whether Pearson will come in for Fryatt or Hobbs...

Read Webbo's comments at the beginning (number 2 I think) because no one but Pearson and Sven know the possibility of these two players leaving in January.

vassell's hardly unproven, but he has looked like a player who has had a very stop start last 18 months and not been able to get a run of games under his belt.

I see how "unproven" is misleading. "He is yet to prove that his move to Leicester will be a profitable one."
