Kitchandro Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 He's not my sort of player he never has been, I hate seeing my club play that sort of football where they just knock it up to the big man, its boring. I wanna see us play total football and total football doesn't include big, ageing, ex- derby donkeys like Steve Howard. Mate you haven't got a clue. Did you see the game on Saturday? We played great football and big Steve was a big part of it. He's not a donkey he's a good footballer, don't just be prejudiced because he's tall. How can you say the kind of football we played on Saturday was boring? Moron Frankly I'd rather someone like Howard who gives everything for the cause play for us than someone who's very talented but doesn't give his all. Characters like Howard are loved by the fans and rightly so, he epitomises the passion of the fans and the workmanlike player football was made by! I'm LOVING the football we are playing at the moment, much better than Sousa's shit, passing it to death and not going forward, not to mention a defence like a sieve.
Kitchandro Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 what about if we are under near constant pressure? You need a big man uptop as an outlet in those situations, it's not sensible to pass it out when under large amounts of pressure. Another good point Partner him up front with a goalscorer, or have 2 supporting him in a 4-3-3 like on Saturday and he's a real assett
muzzy1981 Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 Philbert Fox you have been told! No hush ya negative mouf!
Heskey2011 Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 In the Daily Mirror today there was a column titled - "Muddle means a cuddle off Sven" Stevie Howard bigs up Svens man management - "He's calmed the ship. He's got a nice way about him and gets his points over well" goes on to say "Some players need a kick up the backside and some don't. Some need a cuddle. But he doesn't cuddle me though!" The best bit of the piece is a Sven quote about Howard - "He reminds me of Christian Vieri, strong and clever." Brilliant - I wonder if this comparison has ever been made before, think i would have remembered it, Sven's spot on though, very intelligent player, not sure if he's quite in the same league as Vieri but I'm not going to argue with Mr Eriksson I hope these kinds of comments instil a belief in the side that anything is possible, coz i think that's half the battle. Come on City!
conradno1 Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 in sven i trust in big steve i trust vieri/howard=chalk/cheese sating that i hope we get as much for big steve as sven did for vieri
Kitchandro Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 All Sven has said is that Howard is big, intelligent and a good leader - like Vieri. I think that's fair.
Bluefoxtim Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 Steve Howard has been a good player for us, "Without a shadow of a doubt".
conradno1 Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 yeh im not saying hes not good i think hes quality brings so much more to the team then goals
haraven Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 Ok striker, but I still have more feelings for Tricky Trev. He tried as well, but never had the same setup around him Howard is an ok striker, but his goal scoring rate is too low. However I appreciate his hard work efforts, and the fact that we have a big fighter up there brawling his way through nippy defenders and creating changes for others.
