Southern Fox Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Anybody certain you can purchase on the gate tomorrow? Don't wanna go all the way down to london to find out I canny get in... Cheers I was also planning on just heading down in the morning and getting my ticket on the gate. Cant find anything on the OS that confirms either way Any advice appreciated
Shrenchel Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 90% sure you can. If there has been some fvck up with that though, I'm absolutely certain tickets for the home ends can be bought on the day so won't be a wasted trip either way.
bigneville Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 I spoke with the ticket office on Christmas Eve, as my ticket for this hadn't arrived in the post yet. They said I could call up on the morning, and get one then, but also tickets should be available on the gate if worst came to worst. My advise would be to buy it over the phone in the morning, and get the ticket sent down with the foxes travel.

I do it quite often, but for some reason I'm not that fussed on it on this occasion
Fosse Boy Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Anybody certain you can purchase on the gate tomorrow? Don't wanna go all the way down to london to find out I canny get in... Cheers Chap in the ticket office said it's pay on the gate to me yesterday.
Head Honcho Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Just been on the tfl website and there's a replacement bus service in operation from London Bridge station to South Bermondsey so anyone planning on doing pre-match in that area may want to leave a little earlier making their way to the ground.
Fosse Boy Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Joke. Anyone know what kind of mileage you're looking at going via Surrey Quays?
Shrenchel Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 It's about 4 stops on the overground from Whitechapel, which is pretty well connected itself (2 stops from Liverpool St). Once you get off at Surrey Quays, it's about a 15 minutes walk.
Shrenchel Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Decent pub next to SQ as well that I've seen away fans drinkin in pretty conspicously and without any bother. Can't remember the name.
Maybes Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Looks like people travelling via train/tube are royally fvcked tomorrow. Entire jubilee line closed. Making your way to Shadwell then heading to Surray Quays looks like the best bet.
billyn88 Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Head Honcho, are you sure about the buses for LB to South Bermondsey? Maybe I've missed something obvious but when I go on TFL and National Rail they seem to say its just the line between Victoria and Clapham Junction that's using replacement buses. Here's the map of the affected area off National Rail. http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/managed/service-disruptions/en2cf2df2df04b019b0766b93616eb1d/additionalMaps/London%20Victoria_Clapham%20Jcn.pdf Maybe its just wishful thinking but its gonna be a pain in the arse if that line isn't running.
RowlattsFox Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 First london away game by train, last thing I wanted was disruptions. Hopefully see a crowd and follow the route I've done the journey planner on that website and it doesn't say I cant do the route but I don't really understand the tube system.
billyn88 Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 I've heard Millwall games are so well policed if there is a problem with that train they'll be waiting at London Bridge for anyone looking remotely lost. Otherwise, just turn up early-ish and follow the crowd like you said!

CosbehFox Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Use the Northern Tube line to get at London Bridge and then rail to South Bermondsey. The jubliee line is closed. I think HH has got mixed up with Bermondsey tube station and South Bermondsey Train Station.

MeatyLCFC Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 How long does it take by coach and what are the numbers were taking down there, 1500 ive heard with 6 coaches (inc. train etc) ?
CosbehFox Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 How long does it take by coach and what are the numbers were taking down there, 1500 ive heard with 6 coaches (inc. train etc) ? It takes about two hours to the centre of London plus your pitstop. Then you'll have to wait for an escort which could take 5 mins or 30 mins to arrive, then it's 45 mins to a hour driving through Greenwich, Blackheath and New Cross. Be patient.
billyn88 Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 By coach I'd hazard a guess at around the 3 hour mark to South London and with police escort but its my first visit to Millwall tomorrow and I haven't taken Fox Travel for years!
CosbehFox Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 You are actually right. Good lad. Ive double checked. They are replacement buses on that rail-line but not the section we need. If any City fan is arriving in London at Victoria, they'll have an issue.

Went on fox travel last time, wasn't too bad getting to London but took ages to get to the ground so could take a while.
