Stevosevic Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 Didn't want him anyway, doesn't score more goals than the strikers we already have.

Guest Basildon Fox Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 Hi Lads, Whats your thoughts on James Vaughan ? Hes just agreed to sign for Cardiff for 1 Mill http://www.walesonline.co.uk/footballnation/cardiff-city-fc/2010/12/29/cardiff-city-sign-toffee-james-vaughan-91466-27905456/ Firstly it says you have had a bid of £1m for him accepted, not that he has agreed to sign. Secondly good player on his day though very injury prone and inconsistent. Would still have him here if he wanted to come though.
volpeazzurro Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 Well at least Davies, Vitor and Kirkland won't be lonely in the sick bay! Honestly, what a waste of time, if only we had a midfielder or wingers to provide the ammunition, we already have better strikers in Waghorn and Fryatt!
Kingy_85 Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 Im a big fan of Vaughn. Get him in for 500k. I can see him being a very good player once he matures a little bit. How old is he?

He's fast and will get behind the defence, strong too, but obviously he can only do that when he's not spending time on the sidelines, a regular occurence.
taffyfox Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 My mate is a season ticket holder at Cardiff and he was telling me that Dave Jones (along with most the Cardiff Fans) are desperate to land Steve Howard. Apparently they are petrified of him as he always seems to better them when they play us. But would he go knowing that it would be a "help get us up, then find a new club" job. 1 million was being thrown about. Not sure if they will follow this now they have Vaughan tho. Would have been a great deal for us I reckon, although I am a fan of big Steve, 1 mill for someone of his age would be too good to turn down. Shame

okie fox Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 Sorry, I should have read the link. Bothroyd is out of contract in the summer so they have to cash in now.

In fact, he's not as good as anyone you already have.
Dylan Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 I think Vaughan would be worth a shot if fit. He's fast and strong, and could be perfect for the central role of our 4-3-3. Did someone say Cardiff are desperate for Howard? If this is true, I'd sell Howard for whatever we can get- not really sure why they'd want him though. No disrespect to Howard, but I think he's nothing more than an impact sub now, and isn't going to get any better. As much as I love his 'spirit', he's too lazy imo, and expect the ball perfectly to him, and doesn't chase it enough. Cash him in if we can to fund another striker.
MattyFromLE Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 I was impressed by Vaughan last season, would be nice to see him in a city shirt again.
