Fox 4 Life Posted 30 November 2010 Posted 30 November 2010 has been doing well for Palace, think he would be a bargain for that price. Pace and good finishing, exactly what we need. Only worry is his injury history...
Houdini Logic Posted 30 November 2010 Posted 30 November 2010 Thought Vaughan looked the sharpest of our loan strikers last year (though didn't get to see enough to judge fully). Bargain at this price
Edmund Posted 30 November 2010 Posted 30 November 2010 A link would be nice next time hackney! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1334442/James-Vaughan-Leicester-radar-Foxes-line-January-bid-Everton-striker.html?ito=feeds-newsxmlJames Vaughan back on Leicester radar as Foxes line up £500,000 January bid for Everton striker Leicester are considering a £500,000 January move for Everton striker James Vaughan. The 22-year-old was on loan at the Walkers Stadium earlier this year and helped the Foxes qualify for the Championship play-offs last season. Vaughan is the Premier League's youngest-ever goalscorer and is currently on loan at Crystal Palace, where he has scored five in 12 games, until January. He netted just once in eight appearances, only two of which were starts, for the Foxes towards the end of last season and previously had a loan spell with Derby County that was restricted to just two games through injury. Vaughan, who has been capped by England at Under 17, Under 19 and Under 21 levels, was just 16 years and 271 days old when he scored for Everton against Palace in April 2005.
Collier Posted 30 November 2010 Posted 30 November 2010 Unsure. When fit, there's no doubt that he'd be a pretty handy player at this level. He never seems to be fit, mind. Rather we stayed clear.
ScouseFox Posted 30 November 2010 Posted 30 November 2010 £500k is pretty cheap considering how young he is, could've sworn he was older than 22. 5 in 12 for Palace is a decent strike rate, considering the chances we create he should bag a few if we were to move for him. No complaints if Sven was to make this happen.

MPH Posted 30 November 2010 Posted 30 November 2010 kin l edmund What did your last servant die of? Are you a student? He was actually being a lot politer than some people on here would of been. Providing a link, when available, is common practise on here and goes with the responsibility of starting a thread..
Edmund Posted 30 November 2010 Posted 30 November 2010 kin l edmund What did your last servant die of? Are you a student? Are you dumb? A little info would've been nice that's all. Initially I thought that Vaughn was signing for Palace for 500k until I read the article.
LeciesterCityFootballClub Posted 30 November 2010 Posted 30 November 2010 If Palace don't offer first, then we should try and get him. Bargain price and is a great player.
Fmfox Posted 30 November 2010 Posted 30 November 2010 He has potential, but when he came here on loan all he did when he got the ball was fall over pretty much every time - and that isn't even exaggerating! I think it may be worth it but I would rather we gave Waghorn a change to find his form again, we paid much more for him after all.

I'd agree with you but then 500k for Vaughan seems like so much better business than the 3 million we got for waghorn. I think Waghorn needs developing but two young strikers in our squad would probably be something to go on
hackneyfox Posted 30 November 2010 Author Posted 30 November 2010 Are you dumb? A little info would've been nice that's all. Initially I thought that Vaughn was signing for Palace for 500k until I read the article. The first 3 who replied didn't so perhaps it isn't me who is dumb? Sorry if I didn't follow the house rules and realise just what a responsibility I was taking on. I'll do better next time.
ajthefox Posted 30 November 2010 Posted 30 November 2010 I don't see how anyone could comlain about this. He might be injury prone but he is quality and wouldbe well worth having, especially at such a cheap price, bearing in mind how much Waghorn was and that if we are to bring him in, I think it would definitely spell goodbyefo fryatt who we could easily get a mil for.
hackneyfox Posted 30 November 2010 Author Posted 30 November 2010 A million for Fryatt? Who would pay that? 400k and I'd be happy
Jakemoore Posted 30 November 2010 Posted 30 November 2010 I think 5 K isnt a realistic price. I'd say at least a million. Great signing though.
Starkwell Posted 1 December 2010 Posted 1 December 2010 I think we have enough inconsistent, potentially good signings. Didn't think much of him when he was here last, and his fitness record is horrific. Ok half a mill is not much, but I see him going out on loan a lot - much rather have one of the youth lads on the bench than some unproven sick note on a thick salary.
Thursofox Posted 1 December 2010 Posted 1 December 2010 Off topic - but what is the origin of "bin robbers" as applied to Leicester?

I thought he was dogshit whilst he was here. Either injured or on the floor. Rubbish. Him and Spearing made no impact when they came on loan. No idea what the love in is all about.
SMX11 Posted 1 December 2010 Posted 1 December 2010 Vaughan didn't make much of an impact but Jay Spearing was superb when he was here.

Bettsj2 Posted 1 December 2010 Posted 1 December 2010 Yeah, what he said, that Spearing was rubbish. We almost got relegated when he joined us. HA!! So Spearing was the catalyst for our play off position? I was a season ticket holder and when he played he was no better than anyone else we had. Made no difference at all.
